Notes:

  • Levi has always admired coordinators, spending time watching his mothers’ old contests and shows on PokéTube. While both have long since retired from coordinating and moved on to being primarily trainers (a gym leader and frontier brain respectively), Levi believes that since both got their starts as coordinators then he should as well. He heavily models his look and aesthetic on Lisia’s when she was around his age, even having the same partner pokémon as her (Reda is Ali’s daughter!). Over time, however, he’s beginning to forge his own identity as a contest idol and finding his own path that’s uniquely Levi.
  • Levi is an avid follower and believer of astrology, checking his horoscope daily and doing crystal grids every full moon. His favorite crystal is a piece of fluorite that’s the same colors as his hair and eyes, given to him by May for his birthday the year he started his journey. He’s also versed in tarot and enjoys doing readings for his friends. However, he’s also often in conflict with his younger sister, Ione, who’s equally superstitious, but in a different way, being an avid spiritualist who enjoys seances and Ouija boards. Levi doesn’t think ghosts work like that and Ione thinks astrology is a load of nonsense, so it’s anyone’s guess if they’ll ever see eye-to-eye on this subject.
  • It’s typical for members of the
    Lǚ

    clan to learn an instrument as part of the family’s traditions dating back over a thousand years. In Levi’s case, he chose his voice to be his instrument, which isn’t as usual a pick as the erhu or guzheng, but this is modern times! There are plenty of vocal solos or accompaniments for him to learn that have been adapted to the clan’s traditional music over the years, and Levi enjoys putting a modern spin on ancient songs with the help of his musician boyfriend, Rhys, who assists in arranging the adaptations. Their performances as a contest idol duo are very popular.
