Notes:

  • Maia (the older twin) and Jasper (the younger twin) were born on Halloween Saturday to a delighted Steven and Wallace. Some of their first baby photos were in Halloween costumes, so it’s no surprise the twins grew up love the holiday. Jasper in particular adores Halloween since he loves ghost-type pokémon (and ghosts in general). He likes to think of the holiday as being a celebration for his birthday and always goes all out with partying and dressing up. Maia is more neutral on the holiday, but her brother’s excitement is infectious so she always celebrates right alongside him.
  • The twins initially travel together throughout Hoenn and Johto, they part ways in Kanto when Jasper decides to apprentice with the Cinnabar Gym Leader, Shouju, who is a trained onmyouji. While he’d learned some ways of contacting spirits from his family traditions and from Phoebe, Jasper wanted to develop his powers more, so stayed put in Kanto to train while Maia continued her journey as a trainer. Due to their different interests, Jasper eventually is chosen to be Wallace’s successor in
    Lǚ

    clan traditions and Maia is expecting to take over the Devon Corp. from Steven one day and is involved in the League.

  • Maia specializes in Rock-types and her ace is her Aggron, which can Mega Evolve. She and her wife, Kiran (Archie & Maxie’s daughter), are one right after the other in the E4 lineup and are considered two of the tougher members. Along with loving Rock-types, Maia is the only one of her siblings who inherited Steven’s rock-mania, and she has a substantial gemstone collection. When Alphonse was born, 8 year old Maia was caught on the baby monitor placing some of her collection into his crib and had to be told by her parents that rocks were a choking hazard for babies.
  • As a lover of ghosts and the supernatural, Jasper is close with Phoebe and her family (knowing her as a family friend). His best friend (apart from Maia) is Phoebe and Sidney’s son, Anthony, and the two often explored Mt. Pyre together growing up, which is where Jasper met his starter. While Jasper is very outgoing and a bit of a rule breaker, Anthony is much more mild mannered and shy, so their friendship can seem a bit one-sided with Jasper dragging his friend into trouble, but Anthony loves their adventures and doing things he’d never have the courage to on his own.
