Fankidtober Day 1: Auguste Dupont

Auguste (any pronouns) is the only child of Cosette (Sycamore’s assistant) and Marius (a COTD from Hoenn) and they’re an aspiring detective currently helping out Emma and her daughter Arlette at the Looker Bureau. (Yes, this ship is entirely just me being silly about the extended sad old French men universe Kalos presents us with.)

Auguste was named after Augustine, of course, but her name is also a reference to Poe’s detective ‘C. Auguste Dupin’, one of the forerunners of fictional sleuths!

SabotageShipping (Wallace/Winona/Steven)-Torchic

Name: Gale, short for Galen

Name Origin: Galen is a Greek name meaning “calm”, just like Winona’s JP name. The most famous bearer was a Roman physician of Greek origin who is considered one of the most accomplished of antiquity. Gale as a nickname derives from the word meaning “storm”. Additionally, galena is a type of mineral ore that is an important source of silver, also associated with the mineral fluorite, which often comes in the colors blue, turquoise and purple.

Gender: Male

General Appearance: Light turquoise, wavy hair worn long, but usually tied back in a messy bun and with hair-clips. Lilac eyes with near constant eye-bags. Gale loves fashion but since he has to wear a uniform for work, offsets this by accessorizing where he can. Big fan of any and all cool colors (warm tones don’t suit his complexion). Wears makeup to hide his sleep deprivation (and to look good) whenever he has a day off.

Personality: When he was younger, Gale was pretty aloof and antisocial. He didn’t have much interest in making friends, perfectly happy to do his own thing and preferring the quiet. When he decided to become a Pokémon Doctor, however, he realized that being more approachable was an important part of the job, so he’s been working hard ever since to try and be less intimidating. He’s kind at heart, and a tireless worker, always striving for self-perfection (sometimes working too hard and being too hard on himself though.)

Special Talents: As a sleep-deprived Pokémon Center resident, he has the special ability to fall asleep anywhere and anytime, even standing up in or surrounded by noise. His coworkers often find him on his breaks with his long limbs curled up in a chair completely knocked out. He also has a patented “death stare” he uses on unruly patients. Stay still so we can examine you – or else! 😊

Who They Like Better: It’s a pretty even tie for Winona or Wallace. His mom is the one he enjoys spending time with the most, especially things like sitting outside and reading/working together, or going out flying on their pokémon, but Wallace is the one he looks up to the most and aspires to emulate. He loves Steven too, but the two argue the most out of all his parents, oops.

Who They Take After More: He has a lot of Winona in his personality, but his work ethos and perfectionist streak are more from Wallace, while his self-confidence and unintentional popularity are all Steven. His independence comes from all three!

Personal Headcanon: His main partner pokémon is Chimecho, who when not assisting her trainer at the PokéCenter, enjoys making music with him as he plays the xiāo flute.

If you would be so kid as to try an altshipping kid that would really cheer me up after a lousy few days 🥺 (if you’re still doing them ofc!!)

Name: Morgan

Name Origin: “sea circle” after Lorelei’s name deriving from a type of siren/mermaid, and her large number of dual Ice/Water types & after morganite, a type of pink beryl gemstone.

Gender: Male

General Appearance: Light pink hair and bright blue eyes. He’s taller than both of his parents and built a bit more like Grandpa Joseph was back in the day. Can usually be found wearing any kind of sports jersey + shorts combo, big fan of locker room sandals and socks.

Personality: Himbo supreme. An all around cheerful and good-natured guy who’s always happy to lend a hand and loves being out on a nice day playing around with the boys. Even if a lot of jokes go over his head, he’s always ready to laugh alongside everyone else. Default expression is a slightly bewildered looking smile. “I don’t get it, but that’s totally rad bro!”

Special Talents: Has a surprisingly really good memory, especially for places and things he’s seen before. Has a reputation as a walking field guide thanks to being able to point out and recite facts on any pokémon, flora, rocks, weather patterns… you name it! – that he might come across while hiking. He doesn’t really see it as a big talent though and still regularly jokes about how he’s not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Who They Like Better: It’s a pretty even tie! He loves Steven for taking him out hiking and teaching him a lot of what he knows about the natural world, and loves Lorelei for spoiling him and always standing up for him and cheering him on (she is THE PTA mom she goes to every single one of his basketball games and cheers the loudest.)

Who They Take After More: Every single Stone gene went straight on through, he’s got a lot of traits from both Steven and Joseph, but his love of cute, small pokémon was definitely thanks to Lorelei’s influence.

Personal Headcanon: He’s not a huge battler, so most of his pokémon are unevolved. His main partner is a Jigglypuff nicknamed Ponpon his parents helped him catch, as his most beloved plush he slept with growing up was of one (they’re the same colors after all)! Ponpon is a surprisingly serious and fussy mon who mainly helps his trainer out by putting any aggressive wild pokémon they encounter to sleep (and has also been caught and scolded for trying to the same to his opponents on the court from the stands.)

looking at your kalos daughters again and hmmmm… what would a leaf/serena girl look like i wonder 🤔

Name: Fleur

Gender: Female

General Appearance: Long, slightly wavy brown hair worn looped and pinned to the back of her head. It flips up at the ends when cut shorter. Brown eyes. She likes to wear simple but cute fashion that she can move around in easily and rarely wears makeup. Loves blues and greens.

Personality: Fleur is mild-mannered and easy going, often seeming to be in her own little world. She vastly prefers being outdoors and traveling around rather than spending time outside, and tends to avoid cities. While she seems rather ditzy, she’s actually an extremely talented battler, simply due to all her traveling and encounters with other trainers and wild pokémon. She likes to go with the flow and keeps a journal of all the interesting people and places she encounters on her wanderings.

Special Talents: Insane shiny luck. Trainers fear her, collectors want to be her.

Who They Like Better: Leaf and all her (possibly tall) tales of encounters with rare pokémon and epic battles and sightseeing.

Who They Take After More: Serena 🙂 It’s the ease she makes personal connections with, and a natural charisma that can win hearts and friends wherever she goes.

Personal Headcanon: She grew up bouncing between Kalos and Kanto for her mothers’ work, which is likely what sparked her love of traveling and dislike of settling down. Despite her travels, she’s in regular contact still with her family via The Groupchat, where she sends endless slightly blurry photos with silly captions.

polartwilight timeeeee :v

Name: Milly (short for Millicent)

Name Origin: millet, Millicent

Gender: Female

General Appearance: Black hair in braided loops, tied with red ribbons that match the one on her brown cape. Blue eyes, a kind soft face with rosy cheeks and a beauty mark, and pale blue hair clips for her bangs. Dresses warm for the cold Snowpoint weather, but also loves cute accessories and has more than she quite knows what to do with.

Personality: Calm and gentle, always seems to be in a good mood no matter the situation. She loves helping others and has a nurturing personality that means she’s great with kids and pokémon. She’s a real social butterfly that seems to know everyone and considers everyone a friend. Her anger is rare, but she’s the type of person who still smiles when pissed off, just with a positively icy grin.

Special Talents: Knows the woods and wilderness around Snowpoint like the back of her hand and has never gotten lost. She can navigate using the sun and stars, and has a very good memory for landmarks. General wilderness survival, especially the uses of different plants, since she’s an herbalist.

Who They Like Better: Marley, but it’s more since she was around a bit more for her childhood, as Candice was often busy at the Gym or League or Trainer School. She and Marley would go on hikes a lot together.

Who They Take After More: Candice for sure! Her friendly personality and helpful nature are just like her mom’s. She’s also got a fair bit of great-great grandma Mai in her “big sister” tendencies and knowledge of the wilderness.

Personal Headcanon: She first grew interested in study herbs and plants after meeting Marley’s Shaymin friend. Shaymin helped her begin to appreciate grass types and how interconnected they were with nature, which led to a passion for plants in general. She specializes in grass types as a result – even apprenticing with Gardenia for a bit!

Update thanks to peer pressure I guess Indigo is now a 5th coma baby for this verse. I would say I’m mad at being enabled but also he’s adorable and the urge to give your otp a million kids is a real one. He’s 4 years younger than the twins and is born when Emery’s traveling in Unova, so I’m sure that was a fun video call to get.

Abilityshipping? For the fan kid meme.

Name: Indigo

Gender: Male

General Appearance: Dark blue-violet hair that tends to stick up, warm brown eyes, and Ash’s iconic “Z” markings on his cheeks. Fairly petit in stature, but stronger than his small size would indicate. Tends to dress in more formal, stylish clothing, similar to Anabel’s, in an attempt to avoid people frequently thinking he’s much younger than he actually is (though now he just gets a lot of ‘oh how cute! a little kid wearing a little suit!).

Personality: He’s fairly hesitant and even a bit passive. It takes a lot for him to stand up for himself and speak his mind. Since he was sheltered growing up, he’s nervous around new people and isn’t quite sure how to best make friends. Nevertheless, once he’s calmed his anxiety, he’s a fierce battler and has a strong wanderlust, dreaming of seeing the world one day (even if traveling is also a bit scary).

Special Talents: Indigo inherited Ash’s ability to use aura, though rather than making barriers and other physical manifestations, his talent is in reading the auras of other living things. He can sense emotions, locate people, and even communicate to a degree with pokémon.

Who They Like Better: Don’t make him choose!

Who They Take After More: Anabel! He’s actually very similar to how Anabel was as a child, though there’s no way for her parents to know that.

Personal Headcanon: His parents first properly met through a joint mission – Ash working for the G-Men, Anabel for Interpol (as an amnesiac Faller). They found they had a strong rapport, and greatly enjoyed getting to know each other (and having a few battles) during the downtime they got. Afterwards, they kept in touch and began trying to take further assignments that would let them interact, eventually starting a relationship. Indigo was an unexpected baby, but Anabel and Ash used the opportunity to both retire from active duty so they could raise him. Regardless, both were a teensy bit overprotective of him, having experienced the Horrors of the world firsthand themselves (multiple brushes with death and evil villains, losing entire pasts to wormholes, and that’s not even getting into everything they dealt with on G-Men missions). Now that Indigo is older and wants to travel though, they’re learning that they can’t and shouldn’t be so protective of him forever.

I’m very shy but uhhhhh for my first trick: your Winona/Kris kid Amethyst- Torchic

Name: Amethyst (sometimes goes by Amy or Ame)

Gender: Female

General Appearance: Short purple hair that flips up at the ends and lilac eyes. Cute, sailor-style fashion, with a big emphasis on pastels and functionality.

Personality: Very positive and outgoing, she’s rarely seen without a smile on her face. Likes to think of life as a challenge to overcome, and she loves a good challenge! Quite independent, if she can get a job done herself, that’s what she’ll do, and other people getting involved in her projects can stress her out. She gets along well with others, but is generally happier doing her own thing.

Special Talents: She’s very industrious and has a very good business sense. She can keep calm in any situation, always able to look on the bright side. She’s the person you turn to when you want to get something done and need advice or help planning.

Who They Like Better: It’s close, but she gets along just a bit better with Kris. She can sometimes find Winona a bit harder to connect with since both of them sort of exist in their own little worlds to a degree.

Who They Take After More: Both! Amethyst is a fairly even mix of her parents – industrious and a good out-of-the-box thinker like Kris, while also being calm and independent like Winona.

Personal Headcanon: She runs a delivery service throughout Hoenn alongside her partner pokémon, Pelipper. She forms close relationships with her regular clients, often ending up involved in their lives through her daily work. She’s the type of person that’s easy to talk to and who is both a good listener and gives good advice.

Maybe Cynthia/Lucian for the fankid meme?

Name: Phoebe

Gender: Nonbinary

General Appearance: Pale lilac hair, grey eyes. Their hair is quite long, but they’re an expert at pinning it up into a variety of styles that give the illusion of shorter length. Elegant, high class fashion in dark reds and purples, often accessorized with blues and silvers. They’re big on jewelry and makeup and vintage trends.

Personality: Haughty and self-assured, the type to brag constantly and bring up their famous parents whenever possible. Puts a lot of effort into their appearance and education, making sure to put their money where their mouth is. Appears unflappable in public, but in private will rage and swear when something goes wrong or they get criticized.

Special Talents: Psychic powers inherited from Lucian, mainly in the realm of minor telekinesis they use to carry their books or throw their pokéballs. However they also possess minor psychometry powers (the ability to read an object’s history by touching it), which is not a power found in Lucian’s family, so it must have somehow come from Cynthia’s side even though she herself isn’t psychic…

Who They Like Better: Both! But in different ways. When it comes to bragging rights, Cynthia, but when it comes to how well they get along, Lucian.

Who They Take After More: Cynthia. They share a stubborn streak and habit of wanting to stick their noses into anything that interests them. The passion for history is also mutual (though this something the entire family has in common).

Personal Headcanon: They’ve tried out a lot of different paths, starting out as a trainer to live up to their parents’ legacies, then switching to coordinating, dabbled in pokéstyling, studying the history of fashion, before settling on studying the historical development and cultural impact of psychic powers (with an emphasis on telling the stories of individuals and families).

c: perhaps skyla/kahili?

Name: Robyn (From the “Robyn Gordon” cultivar of the kahili flower (Grevillea banksii))

Gender: Female

General Appearance: Hot pink hair worn in pigtails, blue eyes, freckles. Almost always wearing a swimsuit, even if just under her clothing. Likes blues and reds, tends towards cute, sporty styles. Has her nose pierced with a silver stud. Big fan of waterproof eco makeup that she can wear in the ocean.

Personality: Outgoing and cheerful, but with a fierce competitive side. She has trouble sitting still and loves being outdoors and in the sun (and hates rainy weather). Has no concept of an indoor voice and is fairly disorganized, often tracking sand into the house and leaving wet swimsuits in the bathtub. When she’s on the water though, she’s deadly serious, and has been known to yell at people who get in her way or disrespect the waves.

Special Talents: An almost preternatural sense of balance and direction. She always knows the direction the wind is blowing and rarely gets disoriented. She puts these talents to use in her occupation as a professional windsurfer.

Who They Like Better: Kahili! She really admires her talent as an athlete and likes to exercise with her (the two go swimming or jogging together a lot). Kahili also acted as a mentor to Robyn when she was first starting out as a surfer, encouraging her to keep getting back up when she fell, so she views her mom’s encouragement as key to her success.

Who They Take After More: Skyla! While this similarity means they often get into petty arguments Kahili has to defuse, both share outgoing and friendly personalities and a love of extreme sports. Robyn adores Skyla as well even if she’s a bit closer with Kahili, especially when it comes to sharing an adrenaline rush experience with her, like skydiving, that Kahili would much rather avoid.

Personal Headcanon: Her starter and main partner pokémon is a Mantyke she met while snorkeling at Hano Beach. Robyn was inspired to learn windsurfing so she could fly through the waves just like her partner.
