Do both Anabels know the existence of the other?

They do!

(To make my life easier, Faller Anabel will be referred to as Anabel J. and non-Faller Anabel will be referred to as Anabel B.-F.) Anabel J. was the first one to become aware of her other self, mainly since she was interested in the possibility once she found out what being a Faller entailed. She didn’t go further than learning the basics though, pretty much just the equivalent of a google search. She didn’t want to pry into the life of this world’s Anabel since it just seemed weird to. She was the ‘intruder’ after all. Anabel J. didn’t pay too much attention to what her other self was doing until she met Layla when the girl was assigned to work under her as a rookie. The resemblance between them was undeniable, and Anabel is convinced her superiors paired the two of them on purpose just to mess with them. Obviously, Layla wanted to know why her superior was a doppelganger of her mother, so Anabel J. explained the whole situation. This eventually led to Anabel B.-F. finding out about Anabel J.’s existence, mainly due to Layla’s influence. The two of them consider each other friends, but also the whole ‘looking identical down to their names’ thing is a bit off-putting for the two of them. The only one who regularly interacts with both is Layla and she considers Anabel J. to be something of an aunt, while Anabel J. herself thinks of Layla a bit like a daughter (which she…. technically is). So, long story short, they do know of each other and are on friendly terms, but don’t really interact that much since both find the idea of having a double a bit weird.

Noelle

Noelle was the only daughter of Lance and his wife Liza, but Liza died shortly after her birth. Not six years later, Noelle was killed in a tragic accident involving an injured wild Charizard, and her death weighs heavily on her family members up through the present day.

However, there’s another version of Noelle running about, an adult one. This Noelle is a Faller from a universe where Liza never died, Draco was never born, and she herself never even met the Charizard that killed her in this world. Faller Noelle arrived in this world when she was 23, about three years before the start of the main timeline and had a pretty rough start to her new life. With barely any memories and strange creatures following her and causing chaos, Noelle was sure she was in some kind of nightmare. About six months after her Fall, Interpol was able to track her down and get her the help she needed. Noelle joined them as an agent and initially worked in their UB department, which was where their other primary Faller agent, Anabel, worked. While on a mission in Hoenn, Noelle met Draco for the first time. Draco figured out somewhat quickly who she was, but being Draco didn’t say anything and just acted shifty until Noelle approached him. When she found out they were family, she pretty much demanded to go to Johto so she could meet her father. Lance was stunned to see his daughter all grown up, and Noelle actually recovered a few memories about her father after reuniting with him. After this, she does her best to stay in touch, even though she knows that Lance and Draco aren’t her ‘real’ family, they’re all she has.

Eventually, Noelle ends up investigating this AUs primary antagonists, Team Mythic, who are trying to exploit magical beings to use their power to create weapons and black market magitech. Noelle, along with other Interpol agents, works to infiltrate their bases and take them down. As a demigod, Noelle makes the perfect bait, since she’s the type of person they would want to capture and experiment on. She wouldn’t be the first either, since Noriko, Fei, and Evgeny are all captives of this team and are being used to study magic and how it manifests in divine beings like them. By being intentionally captured, Noelle can dismantle their operations from the inside, rescue captives, and gain valuable information. It’s a rough job, but she wouldn’t trade it for anything, since helping others is so important to her.

As a side note, Noelle is meant to be a foil to my other Faller kid, Ohia, who Fell as a child and quickly found a place to live and a new family. His missing memories barely bother him and he actually doesn’t like people bringing up his Faller status. He and Noelle are somewhat rivals as a result.
