At the moment they’re pretty undeveloped aside from their goals and things relating to the characters involved with them, so, not yet! I’m sure they do have a logo, probably some kind of stylized ‘M’, but otherwise, it’s not designed.

Do both Anabels know the existence of the other?
They do!
(To make my life easier, Faller Anabel will be referred to as Anabel J. and non-Faller Anabel will be referred to as Anabel B.-F.) Anabel J. was the first one to become aware of her other self, mainly since she was interested in the possibility once she found out what being a Faller entailed. She didn’t go further than learning the basics though, pretty much just the equivalent of a google search. She didn’t want to pry into the life of this world’s Anabel since it just seemed weird to. She was the ‘intruder’ after all. Anabel J. didn’t pay too much attention to what her other self was doing until she met Layla when the girl was assigned to work under her as a rookie. The resemblance between them was undeniable, and Anabel is convinced her superiors paired the two of them on purpose just to mess with them. Obviously, Layla wanted to know why her superior was a doppelganger of her mother, so Anabel J. explained the whole situation. This eventually led to Anabel B.-F. finding out about Anabel J.’s existence, mainly due to Layla’s influence. The two of them consider each other friends, but also the whole ‘looking identical down to their names’ thing is a bit off-putting for the two of them. The only one who regularly interacts with both is Layla and she considers Anabel J. to be something of an aunt, while Anabel J. herself thinks of Layla a bit like a daughter (which she…. technically is). So, long story short, they do know of each other and are on friendly terms, but don’t really interact that much since both find the idea of having a double a bit weird.
Another “what’s the story behind” and this time with Brock and Misty’s divorce. I am interested to know about their children and the story behind Altos’s (/Estranged/) as well. I love your blog, btw. Keep the good work up :)
Aww thanks so much! I’m glad that people like the blog.
Brock and Misty have known each other since they were both teenagers, having traveled with Ash and later both being Gym Leaders in neighboring towns. They were good friends who saw each other frequently and over time romantic feelings began to develop. They were married in 3614, 9 years after they first went on their journey with Ash. Their first son, Petrus, was born two years later, and their second son, Seneca, was born four years after his older brother. However, by this point, Misty and Brock’s relationship had started to become strained. They both were very busy with their Gym Leader jobs and felt like they never had enough time to spend together or with their sons. They did try to set up regular dates where they’d leave their gyms and kids with one of Misty’s sisters or with Brock’s brother, but even then they just didn’t click with each other anymore and they’d often end up arguing and not having fun. In a last attempt to save the relationship, they decided to have another child, hoping that would help bring them together, and Alton was born two years after Seneca. Unfortunately, nothing changed aside from there being another baby in the house, so Misty and Brock decided to divorce, since they clearly weren’t getting along as spouses and trying to force the relationship was just making them and their children miserable. The divorce was finalized when Alton was about one and a half, and Misty and Brock decided to share custody.
Both of them wanted to try and take some time to find themselves after ending the relationship, so for about a year after the divorce, their sons ended up staying with their Aunt Daisy and her family in Cerulean. Brock officially handed his Gym over to Forrest, then traveled to Sinnoh to study pokémon medicine, which is how he met Autumn and ended up eventually dating her. He kept in regular contact with his sons while he was abroad, sending souvenirs and video chatting regularly. Misty decided to go back to the Orange Islands, leaving the Cerulean Gym with Daisy, which is where she reunited with Rudy again after so many years. The two hadn’t ever known each other that well when they met as teens, but they found they got along quite well as adults and Misty also grew fond of Rudy’s daughter, Adriana. Something can probably be said for how badly Misty and Brock’s marriage had deteriorated that they both ended up finding new romantic partner’s fairly soon after divorcing.
Brock moved back to Kanto and bought a small farm near Route 3 where he opened up a pokémon clinic for both his neighbors and any passing by trainers. Autumn moved in with him not long after she finished up her studies in Sinnoh, bringing along her Miltank and adding a dairy business to the farm. The two had a daughter, Harvest, together about a year later. Misty decides to officially leave the Cerulean Gym to Daisy full time and move in with Rudy on South Mandarin Island permanently, also getting a job for a local aquatic conservation group, working with water-type pokémon, as well as helping out with her husband’s gym. After they settle down, their sons end up splitting their time between them, spending their weeks with Brock and Autumn and going to school in Pewter, and spending their weekends and most school breaks with Misty and Rudy in Trovitopolis.
Petrus and Seneca both grew up fine with this arrangement. They got along well with their sisters and enjoyed growing up in two different places. Petrus ends up befriending Kestrel, Janine’s eldest daughter, and eventually falls in love with her, so after he moves out he mainly spends his time in Fuschia trying to woo her. Seneca greatly enjoyed helping out on his father’s farm growing up, so he spends most of his time there, where he’s also studying pokémon medicine from Brock and how to take care of farm pokémon from Autumn. Alton, on the other hand, hates his family situation. Perhaps it’s because he was too young to remember anything else. He doesn’t like how he has to always travel between his mother and father’s house, how he has both a stepfather and a stepmother as well as his birth parents. He doesn’t like how Brock left his family to go off to Sinnoh, enough that Alton changes his surname to Misty’s once he’s old enough. He doesn’t like his mom much either, but he respects her for her work so she’s higher up than Brock. Misty is probably the family member he gets along best with, aside from his siblings, since they have a lot of interests in common. Alton wants to work with oceanic conservation just like her one day. Alton in general is just prone to holding grudges and he just wishes he could have had a ‘normal family’ so his annoyance at his family situation grew into resentment over time. He ends up spending a lot of time with the Oaks in Pallet rather than with his own parents, since Sage is his best friend and ‘the only one who gets him.’ He also eventually runs away to Almia to become a pokémon ranger without even telling his parents. Alton is still a teenager, however, so as he grows older, I think he’ll be able to put some of his grudge behind him and try and bond with his family more.
I realize this is an odd question since if you truly didn’t like a ship, it wouldn’t be endgame, but which parent ships do you like the least? Or if you like them all, are there any that use to be endgame, but you changed since you grew to like them less?
There are plenty of ships for very minor characters that I simply haven’t developed yet for this AU that I am neutral on. I have a lot of ships and fankids for this AU because I wanted to create a fully fleshed out ‘next generation’, but that means that there are many adult ships and fankids who I know nothing about. So, in that sense, those ships that I have not thought about much yet would probably be the ones I ‘like least’, just because I don’t really have much of an opinion on them yet aside from that it is canon in L&L.
As for ships that used to be endgame and changed, there are a few, but the reasons behind the changes varies. In most cases, I simply found a ship I liked better, rather than growing to like a ship less, if that makes sense. For example, originally, Brendan was married to an OC former Team Aqua Grunt named Louise and Eve was their daughter, while Wally and Anabel had Layla, Rhys, and Edward. However, over time I grew to really like LoveRivalShipping, but also was still fond of MirrorWorldShipping, so I decided that Brendan/Wally/Anabel would be an OT3 so I could still have both ships be canon. I cut Louise from the story and merged Eve with the rest of the children, then changed the parents a bit and it all worked out. A similar instance occurred when I realized I really liked HonorShipping, but Falkner was already married, even if Morty was single. So…. I killed off Janine (not my greatest moment, sorry Janine). In that case, I guess you could say I grew to like FatherlyShipping less, but it was still mostly a situation of me growing to like HonorShipping more.
Another instance is mainly just caused by the restraints of the AU. My actual favorite Ash ship is PearlShipping, but there are many reasons that ship wouldn’t work in the L&L universe. The Dawn in this AU is very different from her anime counterpart and so the dynamic between her and Ash would be very different. I also have endgamed Dawn and Jeshir for a long time, and I wasn’t going to change that ship just since I had decided that Ash existed in L&L. As such, Ash ended up in what is probably my second or third preferred ship for him, ComaShipping, since that’s what fit best in the universe. The same could be said for many anime pairings though. In the anime, I like ContestShipping, BoutiqueShipping, and JellowShipping, for example, but since the world of L&L isn’t the anime, those ships didn’t make sense for one reason or another. It’s not that I like the canon L&L ships any more or less than those ones, it’s just that in the context of the mainly game-versed base AU, I prioritized my preferred game-verse ships, like ContestQueenShipping, KalosShipping, and SnowLilyShipping.
I’ve just noticed that one of Cynthea’s sister’s children is named Verity. Is she, by any chance, the same Verity from the 20th Pokemon Movie? ( Either way, I want to know more about her and her siblings, please? I love triplets! x)
She is not the same Verity, but her and her siblings’ names were inspired by the character from the movie! I thought it would be cool to have a set of triplets named after Sinnoh’s lakes and be sort of homages to the Lake Trio. It was just an idea until Verity from the movie set in stone that I wanted them to be related to Cynthia, as the mythical connection would fit her family well. At that point, Cynthia’s family and children were already established, but I remembered that Cynthia has a sister in the games, so she seemed like a good choice. As for their father, I chose Fei mainly so that I could have the triplets share their hair color with the color scheme of the Lake Guardian they are meant to be inspired by, and also to have a legitimate mythical/supernatural connection as Fei is one of the former legendary pokémon. Amarynthia has blonde hair and Fei has blue hair and a red haired sister, so it seemed reasonable they could have blonde, blue haired, and pink haired children. Other than the premise however, I don’t really know much about Amarynthia or the triplet’s yet, sorry! I’ll share what little I do know about Verity though.
Verity is the triplet meant to be inspired by Mesprit, so she has pink hair and is probably the most emotional out of her siblings. It’s entirely possible she is somewhat similar to Verity from the movie, if not in looks, but truth be told, I haven’t seen the 20th movie so I can’t really say for certain.
What is your #1 favorite fankid ship out of all of your fankids?
This one is harder to answer than the parent ships ask, since I basically created pairings that I liked for the fankids, what with them being my own ocs and all. So, what fankid ship is my favorite really depends on which ship I am developing or which fankid I am developing. That said, I think one that will always be near and dear to my heart is ContestPrinceShipping (Levi/Rhys). It’s just such a fun ship, comprises one of my favorite fankids (Levi) and is pretty much drama-free and cute compared to some of my other fankid ships.
What is your #1 favorite parent ship in this au?
This is a loaded question, since I love so many of the ships for this AU. There are some that I was neutral on until I started developing them, some that have changed as I discovered a ship I liked better, and some that were OTPs from the start. With that in mind…. I guess I would say it’s a tie between SoulSilverShipping and FerrisWheelShipping, if only because those two were basically my first pokémon ships and the only ones of my ‘first ships’ to remain even as other preferred pairings changed. That being said, there are other ships in this AU I am equally fond of (like ContestQueen), it’s just that those two will always be special in my heart since I’ve shipped them for so long.
What’s the story behind Robert and Solidad’s child? How did he/she/they end up under Harley (of all people)’s guardianship?
Oh boy it’s Brooke time.
Right, the story behind this situation. Essentially, Robert and Solidad had a ‘publicity marriage’. They were sort of casually dating, but then news of that got leaked to the press, so everybody thought they were a legit couple since gossip about top coordinators is always hot. The two felt pressured to enter a serious relationship and eventually got married, though by this point they definitely didn’t really have any feelings for each other aside from being friends. They have their daughter Brooke mainly just since it was ‘expected’ but both her parents do genuinely love her!
Of course, a marriage based on something as flimsy as ‘the media pressured us into it’ is definitely not built to last, so eventually Robert and Solidad decide to divorce, since trying to stay together is just making both of them unhappy, and more importantly, it’s not a good environment for a young girl like Brooke to grow up in. As nothing is ever simple in the world of celebrities, the divorce ends up being very messy. Robert and Solidad are fighting over details, there’s a ton of unwanted media coverage and it’s just awful all around. At this point, Brooke is mainly living in Kanto with Solidad, who moved out around when the divorce started (they had previously lived in Johto, in Robert’s hometown.) Seeing how stressed out and unhappy Brooke is becoming from the divorce and seeing her parents fight all the time, and also to get her away from the mess, Solidad decides to see if any of her friends in other regions are willing to take care of her 11 year old daughter until things calm down.
Between some of her friends being too busy with work and/or their own families to take in a troubled preteen, or just not being suited to taking care of a kid in the first place, somehow the most qualified person to take care of Brooke ends up being Harley. He’s eccentric, but Solidad trusts him and he has the space and resources to be able to support Brooke. So, Solidad and her daughter head to Hoenn to stay with her old friend, and hopefully see how well he and Brooke get along. Brooke ends up loving her ‘Uncle Harley’ and even if he denies it, he clearly is pretty charmed by her as well, so a few weeks later the arrangements for Brooke to move in are all set. She still video chats and calls her parents regularly, but Brooke ends up growing to love living with her ‘uncle’ and life in Hoenn, deciding to be a coordinator (but a ‘cool’ one like Harley and not a ‘boring’ one like her parents!). Even after the divorce is over, Brooke decides that she doesn’t want to go back to live with either of her parents, saying that she already got used to going to school in Hoenn and doesn’t want to leave all her new friends or the warm climate. Her parents agree to let her stay with Harley (since nothing seemed to be going terribly wrong) as long as she spends school breaks with either of them back in Johto or Kanto.
So, Brooke spends the rest of her teen years in Hoenn, becoming a popular and successful coordinator in her own right. She ends up cutting her hair short and styling herself as a ‘prince’ archetype, attracting many smitten fans who she always playfully flirts with. In actually, she’s quite a nerd and adores magical girl and idol shows and games, even well into her late teens. Brooke also ends up the main rival of Levi (May and Lisia’s son) competing with him for the title of ‘Prince of Hoenn’. Harley is very proud of her and will boast about her success as a coordinator and ‘flawless charm’ to everyone, even her own parents.
In a Disney movie AU, what fankids would be which couples? (Like, who would be Aladdin and Jasmine, Ariel and Eric, Rapunzel and Eugene, etc.)
Oh gosh this might be a bit tough, but I’ll do my best!
Well… to start out, while not fankids, the OC/Legendary parent ships of Yves/Alexandrine and Yulia/Evgeny both draw intentional influence from Tangled. Yves has some Rapunzel elements in that he’s a long-lost prince on a quest to return to his kingdom without knowing his true identity. Evgeny was intentionally designed to be a bit of a Eugene expy, from his (former) occupation as a thief, to his romance with a princess, and just his name.
As for fankids though:
Sage & Celeste would make a fine Robin Hood & Maid Marian.
Luna & Nerissa would be cute as Snow White & Prince Ferdinand, or as Princess Aurora & Prince Philip.
Cypress & Apollon could work as Tarzan & Jane (in an AU where Cypress was raised by dragons until adulthood and not just until he was 8.)
Ceres & Callisto would make a pretty darn adorable Rapunzel & Eugene for the fankids (they could also work in some…. Russian version of the Aladdin story with Callisto as the titular hero and Ceres as the princess.)
Levi & Rhys are Ariel and Eric. They’ve probably dressed up as these characters before. They know what they’re about. Levi is the handsome merman and Rhys is his charming musical prince.
Draco & Addie could be an interesting Beast/Prince Adam and Belle, since Draco’s character arc involves him confronting his anger issues and part of the reason he ends up dating and marrying Addie is the support she gave him during that difficult period of his life.
Yvon & Aurélie could be cute as Kristoff & Anna.
Mindy would make an excellent Meg, but Maddie doesn’t really fit Hercules that much.
Honestly, I think for a lot of these I just can’t quite pick a Disney couple that matches well in terms of dynamics and story elements with the various fankid ships, while I do actually have plenty of fankid ships that sound like they ought to be Disney couples (like Elias and Margot…. a shy prince and an outgoing, dragon-obsessed girl.) I’m also not familiar with too many Disney couples, having only seen most Disney movies once, and probably a long time ago to boot. I’m happy to hear others’ opinions on this matter though, or if you have a fankid ship you’d like to know more about.
Archie and Maxie for the prompt!! :D
- who’s the werewolf and who’s the hunter – werewolf Archie and hunter Maxie (Archie would make such a good buff werewolf like damn….)
- who’s the mermaid and who’s the fisherman – merman Archie (duh) and fisherman Maxie (this one has very good potential for these two tbh)
- who’s the witch and who’s the familiar – witch Maxie and familiar Archie (Maxie would be an earth witch yet somehow ended up with water spirit Archie as his familiar but the two are stuck together now anyway)
- who’s the barista and who’s the coffee addict – barista Archie and coffee addict Maxie (Archie would totally flirt by writing notes and drawing hearts on Maxie’s coffee cups)
- who’s the professor and who’s the TA – professor Maxie and TA Archie (stuck up environmental science professor who teaches by the book is annoyed that his TA is friends with all the students since he makes the subject matter more approachable)
- who’s the knight and who’s the prince(ss) – knight Archie and prince Maxie (though I also quite like the idea of mercenary bodyguard Archie and prince in hiding Maxie)
- who’s the teacher and who’s the single parent – teacher Archie and single dad Maxie (this is already like half canon in L&L since Maxie was the single dad of Kiran for a while lol)
- who’s the writer and who’s the editor – writer Archie and editor Maxie (Maxie keeps trying to tone down all of Archie’s purple prose and Archie isn’t having any of it)
