Does Madie like madeleines?

I think she’d be neutral on them! Maddie’s not the hugest fan of sweets, but if they were served with something like coffee she’d probably enjoy them. If someone suggested she might like them since they match her name however… she’d get annoyed, since she hates people assuming her full name is Madeleine. So if it happened enough, she’d start hating the dessert on principle.

As a bonus, in Madeleine’s case … I’d say she likes them! She’d think liking a dessert which shares her name is childish, but at the same time wouldn’t be able to help enjoying the idea. So it would be a guilty pleasure sweet for her, even if her reasons for seeing madeleines as a guilty pleasure are a bit convoluted. Of course, she and her sisters are all named after desserts in the first place so…

Which adult will be the next one to get a profile?

My current plan is to finish Renato’s profile, then make Tipha’s. After that I’ll focus on doing more adult profiles. My goal is to do art for them this time as well! The first one will most likely be Wally, since I was working on his before anyways and there was a kind Anon who wanted it. After Wally I’ll probably do the profiles for the parents of the main four – so Ash, Paul, Barry, Lucas, N, art for Lyra and Silver, and then art and a finished profile for Hilda.

When writing (characters or fanfiction), do you listen to any music, podcasts, audiobooks, etc. to help you focus? If so, do you have any songs that particularly suit a character? If not, how do you focus?

I don’t really write fanfiction (yet) but when I’m working on characters I tend to listen to music genres I think fit them or their general vibe! I don’t have specific playlists for each fankid, so usually I’ll just pull up a general playlist of whatever gets me in the right mood.

For example, I tend to listen to a lot of modern Japanese folk music when working on the Johto or Kanto kids and I’ll listen to European folk-inspired music when working on fankids like Cyril or Florian.

One of the exceptions is Hymnia, who I do have a few dedicated songs for. Some you can find on the bottom of this page. And this is the other big one. There are some other characters who I do associate specific songs with… but with most it’s  not strong enough that I always listen to that music when working with them. I just brought up Hymnia as an example since I can easily link some of her “Character Songs” lol.

If I’m not listening to music, I might put a Netflix rerun or some Youtube video on in the background as I work – but this is usually just for drawing! I find it easier to write when I don’t have to try and focus on the words I’m writing and what I’m listening to.

In short, it really depends on what fankids/characters I’m working on, what kind of plot element I’m working, and the mood I’m in. There’s no real consistent answer.

Do you have any endgame ships for Hapu, and does she have any kids?

Currently, I don’t endgame Hapu with anyone nor does she have any children. I don’t think that will change, either, since I see her as someone who is happy to remain single.

While she has no children of her own, she has a relationship with a few of the Alola fankids. In particular, she’s an aunt-like figure to Lehua and a mentor figure to Ohia, who eventually succeeds her as kahuna of Poni Island (though that’s a long ways away.)

Additionally, she plays a role in Echter’s storyline (aka the main Alola storyline), though this is less fleshed out right now.

Evan/Mavis would make a good couple.

That’s certainly a very cute idea, Anon!

However, this ship sadly wouldn’t work out for one major reason – Mavis just isn’t into human guys.

😂 She has a love of the supernatural and the occult and that includes her love life. I don’t have all the details just yet, but I can confirm that Mavis eventually ends up dating a snake yokai – an uwabami. Is this the safest romance option for her? Probably not, but she’s not going to let something like her boyfriend eating humans get in the way of their love. Sadly, Evan would just be too boring for her, descendant of a dragon or not. Another factor is I don’t know too much about Evan yet, apart from the fact that he’s a competitive trainer. Once I know more about him, I’ll be able to know more about his relationships as well.

I’ve been really interested in the Pokémon Let’s Go games these few days and so I was wandering what did you do with the main characters (Chase, Elaine and Trace) in your verse.

In the L&L AU, Chase and Elaine are twins and Trace is one of their childhood friends. The trio are all two years younger than the Red/Green/Yellow group and are the same age as Leaf, their other childhood friend. Growing up, Leaf, Elaine and Chase especially used to get into a lot of trouble, even breaking the law sometimes with stunts like trespassing and petty thievery. As time passed however, Elaine began to distance herself from such shenanigans and spend more time with the more dutiful Trace. When the time came for them all to leave Pallet for their pokémon journeys, Elaine and Trace chose to head out on their own as rivals rather than deal with whatever scheme Chase and Leaf were likely to come up with this time. And boy did those two have a scheme.

Leaf had heard rumors that Team Rocket wasn’t as defeated as everyone thought they were and she and Chase decided to investigate this for themselves. While Elaine and Trace’s journey was very similar to the plot of the Let’s Go games, just with much less Team Rocket influence (so a basic journey around Kanto challenging gyms), Leaf and Chase were busy poking their heads into the criminal underworld. The two eventually do find Team Rocket by tracking down one of their secret bases. When they get caught by a grunt, however, Chase claims that they were interested in joining the team, hoping that would get them out of trouble. Instead, the grunt takes them seriously and brings the two young teens straight to Archer who figures they show enough promise to be able to start on some low-level grunt work.

Now rather in over their heads, Chase and Leaf have no choice but to go along with their orders, which is mostly just busywork as they’re still kids. While both are initially working together in what is essentially a gofer position, eventually Leaf discovers something unexpected – her grandfather, Blaine’s, name on one of the documents belonging to a scientist. Intruiged, she’s able to arrange a transfer to be a scientist assistant instead, and starts on a journey to discover the truth behind Mewtwo and her grandfather’s involvement in the project.

Chase, meanwhile, keeps at his grunt work, eventually getting promoted to field work, which is where he first meets Mondo, a character who appears in one of the radio dramas as the supplier to the Jessie, James and Meowth trio while they’re in Kanto. Over time, Chase and Mondo got assigned to more missions together as they were both too young to do any real criminal work, eventually being promoted to the communications department. Unlike Leaf, who leaves the team after achieving her goals surrounding Mewtwo, Chase remains a member of Team Rocket, eventually becoming a field agent with Mondo as his contact back on base. The two end up dating, eventually getting married and adopting a son, Hunter, together.

Elaine meanwhile, returned home to Pallet with Trace once the two managed to defeat the Elite Four and Champion, entering the Hall of Fame. Not long after, she learned about how her brother had gotten involved with something sketchy. She contacted him to try and urge him to leave this path behind, but Chase’s mind was set. He liked this job and found it way more fun than just being a regular trainer. The relationship between the twins never fully deteriorates, but they do have a slightly strained relationship just due to their different outlook on things, especially since Elaine eventually joins the Indigo Elite Four. Luckily, by that point, Silver has taken over Team Rocket and reformed it somewhat, so Elaine and Chase don’t have to worry as much about meeting as enemies down the line.

And what of Trace? He becomes an elementary schoolteacher in Pallet! He and Elaine are married with two daughters, Raine and Scout, and he finds the whole sibling rivalry pretty overwhelming, though he finds out on the rare family reunions that he and Mondo actually get along quite well, all things considered.
