Some stuff about Hunter (Chase/Mondo son) since I’ve been thinking about him recently:

  • Some background – Chase & Mondo both stick with Team Rocket through it’s evolution under Silver’s control into more of a vigilante group who sometimes works with the G-Men. Dark G-Men if you will. Comic book type stuff haha. Chase eventually becomes one of the Team’s higher ups in the Kanto Branch and is also the Saffron City Gym Leader, so he does a lot of work trying to help stop crime in the largest city in Kanto.
  • Hunter’s mother, Rose, ends up passing away, orphaning her toddler son. Due to circumstances around Rose’s death, Chase and Mondo end up investigating the situation, which is when they find Hunter.
  • Since the toddler had no other family, Chase and Mondo end up taking in Hunter, eventually adopting him. He grows up as part of the big team family and is close with Dove and Celeste (the latter of whom he has a bit of a crush on.)
  • Hunter is on the shyer side and is a bit of a tech wiz, preferring to work on his gadgets then talk to others, though Dove usually is able to get him to socialize a bit. His starter is a Koffing who will sometimes use her smoke to help Hunter run away from awkward encounters (or any kind of conversation he wants to avoid.)

🖋 Roy!

Roy was a little over a year old when his parents went to Alola (where they appear in the Gen 7 games.) It was his first big vacation ever, as any previous trips had been just around Kanto or to Johto at the farthest. While Roy was a pretty easy going baby, travelling on a long trip with him was a new experience for Red and Green. He got pretty bad jet-lag that resulted in a few sleepless nights, but luckily was able to adjust to the different time zone before too long.

Alola was Roy’s first experience being somewhere completely different from his home and he was entranced by all the colorful sights and sounds, seeing new pokémon and getting to spend lots of time at the beach. Red and Green definitely noticed how much Roy loved Alola, and considering they also had a great time there, they decided to try and visit there semi-regularly on family trips (as well as places like Kalos, which is where Red and Green got engaged!) This ended up sparking a love of travel in Roy, prompting him to want to start his journey somewhere other than Kanto. So, after brainstorming with his step-cousin Jay, the two decide to start their journey in Galar, since the League there seems so exciting and different from Kanto’s.

Eventually after two years traveling with Jay in Galar and then Kalos, Roy and his cousin part ways, with Jay heading back to Kanto to focus on his research and Roy heading to Sinnoh to keep practicing his skills as a trainer. It’s in Sinnoh that Roy meets Draco and then Ulyssa and starts traveling with them, and also meets some new rivals in Emery, Gavin, and Renato’s group!

Who’s Saffron?

Saffron is Oleana and Rose’s child. Their design and name are loosely based on the character of Yellow Diamond from Houseki no Kuni, a manga series by Haruko Ichikawa, who designed both Rose and Oleana. I am a fan of the series, and YD is my favorite character from it, so it just seemed like it would be a fun idea to give this pairing a child inspired by HnK.

After turning himself in at the end of the SwSh plotline, Rose isn’t in jail for very long. Once he’s free, he and Oleana reconnect and also rekindle their sort of friends-with-benefits relationship (but it’s not really that since Rose had all the power from the beginning.) Oleana is still so used to being Rose’s right-hand at this point that going back to the way things were is just easiest for her, even if the two of them aren’t working together any more. However, once she discovers her pregnancy, it sort of forces her to really start reconsidering her life and where she wants to go from now on.

After a lot of deliberation, Oleana decides to make a clean break with Rose, cutting ties for the most part and raising their child on her own. I’m still working on what she does with her life at this point, though working with Leon at the Battle Tower is very likely – definitely something business related since that’s her area of expertise. Once Saffron is born, Oleana does her best to be a good mother, but she can also admit she’s not the best at being affectionate. All the same, Saffron respects her and appreciates how much Oleana has done for them as a single mother, even if she wasn’t always perfect (they could always count on Leon or his partners to be more traditionally parental to them anyways).

When Saffron is young, maybe 7-10 or so, Oleana and Rose sort-of begin talking again, but mostly this just involves Rose taking Saffron on day trips sometimes and offering to pay for Saffron’s schooling and the like, which Oleana always refuses. As a teenager, Saffron ends up becoming a model, mainly for high-end teen fashion. They really look up to Nessa and are always a bit starstruck when they get to meet her through Oleana’s League connections.

Saffron also has no idea that Ambrose exists or is their half-brother until the two are both teenagers and meet by chance (though Ambrose knows who Saffron is). What happens from there as well as their eventual big confrontation with Rose once and Ambrose start interacting is still something I’m working on!

As a bonus, under the cut I’ll include a pic of a concept design for Saffron I made in Picrew!

Who do Avery and Klara end up with?

I’ve gotten this ask maybe three times so this will be in answer to all of them. As of right now, I’ve finished the story portion of the Isle of Armor DLC and am fairly confident I know what I’m doing with these two.

Avery is most likely going to be endgame with Milo. Marigold is their daughter, but they’re not a couple when she’s born. They later do end up settling down together which is when they’ll most likely have another child, a son named Forsythe. I’m leaning towards Avery either taking over Milo’s Gym or being a Gym Trainer for Bede or a combination of both where he does one first then the other.

Klara most likely remains single. I’m leaning towards her becoming the Stow-On-Side Gym Leader and being rivals with Marnie in the classic pop vs punk battle. She’ll (faux reluctantly) babysit for Avery and Milo’s children though, and probably the BedeVic army of children as well.

Any headcanons for Yellow/Leaf, Lisia/May, and Winona/Kris?

Yellow/Leaf

  • They’ve known each other since childhood, as Yellow is an old friend of Red and Green’s, and Red is Leaf’s older brother. However, they were never super close as children due to their age difference and having their own friend groups.
  • They reconnect later on after Leaf joins Team Rocket and begins investigating Mewtwo around the same era as the Gen 2 games. Yellow was also investigating Mewtwo on her own, so the two met by chance and decided to work together. I’m still fleshing out how their investigation goes, but the endgame is that they become close friends and are able to befriend Mewtwo.
  • They end up pursuing their own paths – Yellow goes to school to study to become a Pokémon Doctor, while Leaf starts working for Green at the Viridian Gym. The whole time they’re supporting each other’s different goals though!
  • At some point, they start dating and eventually move in together once Yellow graduates and Leaf inherits the Gym from Green (who retired to become a Professor). The two buy a house in Viridian, near the forest, that Yellow also runs a small clinic out of.
  • Their daughter and only child, Amaryllis, was a surprise and was born before they got married, though they got engaged after discovering Yellow was pregnant. They were also surprised when she was born with bright red hair, though this made Leaf very happy as it’s her mother’s hair color.
  • In the fankid era, Leaf continues to be the Viridian Gym Leader, while Yellow runs the clinic, focusing on taking care of the various wild pokémon who might get injured. Amaryllis is a fairy-type trainer with aspirations of becoming a Gym Leader herself.

Lisia/May

  • My OTP so I have a lot for this ship.
  • They’re a couple who gets together quite quickly! They start dating sometime in the post game of ORAS, probably after the Delta Episode, which is when May decided to try out being a coordinator after spending so long being a trainer.
  • Their relationship is pretty similar to what plays out in the game, with Lisia taking on a mentor, and eventual rival role to May and encouraging her before and after each contest win, the two growing closer the entire time. I think romantic feelings develop for Lisia first, but she’s hesitant to confess since she’s afraid May doesn’t feel the same, but May for sure caught feelings pretty soon as well, not saying anything since she thought Lisia was totally out of her league.
  • Eventually, right before the two are ready to compete in the Hoenn Grand Festival that year (I used the anime set up for contests in this verse!), the two both decide it’s the time to confess before they face off against each other in the competition. As they both had the same idea, they ended up confessing at the same time! It all worked out though, since knowing that no matter what, they had each other now and a whole future as girlfriends to look forward to, it didn’t matter who won or lost in the Grand Festival. (As it turns out, neither won, the spot going to Robert as it did in the anime.)
  • Drew was also there, yes, and he and May had a rivalry like they did in the anime! In this case, it just never became romantic, though of course the two remain very close friends throughout the fankid era. He may or may not have given May some advice and the final push to work up the courage to confess to Lisia. (May returns the favor by bothering him about Harley later on.)
  • May continued to pursue coordinating for a while, though her endgame career is as a Frontier Brain, replacing Spenser. Her facility is called the Battle Stage and functions like an enhanced version of the battle portion of contests (which is where she got the name from), where challengers have to show off both their battling skills and how in sync they are with their pokémon’s moves and performance. Her title as a Frontier Brain is “Stage Princess May”.
  • Lisia ends up taking over the Sootopolis Gym from her uncle Wallace when he becomes Champion, having been inspired by May’s success as a trainer. She specializes in Dragon-types (her babies) and is a formidable opponent for any gym challenger, often the last gym leader challenged in the league due to Sootopolis’s location.
  • The couple live in Sootopolis with their three children, Levi, Evan, and Ione. Levi is a coordinator and aspiring contest idol, taking after Lisia, Evan is a trainer who wants to become the Petalburg Gym Leader one day like his uncle and grandfather, and Ione is an aspiring performer who starts her journey in Kalos. There was a bit of drama with Evan since Brendan and Wally had already mentioned they liked Eve as a girl’s name for their soon-to-be born child, and Evan is awfully close to Eve. May swears it was a coincidence but there was a bit of tension for a while (that luckily gets cleared up pretty quickly.)

Kris/Winona

  • Less to say here since they’re less developed.
  • It was actually kind of an arranged marriage. Kris’s family and Winona’s family are both old and traditional and have ties going way back. The elders from both families decided it was time to have the clans join in marriage, something they do fairly regularly every so often and began discussions with clan members.
  • Initially the pairing suggested was Clair and Winona, but Clair wanted nothing to do with marriage so the elders approached her younger sister, Kris with the idea instead. Kris actually saw it as an opportunity for adventure and figured that since it was kind of a political match, she could still find love elsewhere if she and Winona didn’t click. Hoenn seemed like a fun place to live, so she agreed.
  • As such, they’re a couple who fall in love after marriage rather than before. They have Amethyst fairly soon after marriage since it was sort of expected of them and both were fine with having a kid, but Gale is born a fair bit later as he was the child they had after falling in love. Amethyst is a coordinator and Gale is a trainer and Evan’s rival.
  • The romance happened fairly slowly, but after living together for a while, both Kris and Winona found themselves thinking about each other a lot. Kris loved watching Winona work at the gym and how attentive she was to her pokémon (and formed a good bond with all of Winona’s flying-types as well!). Winona loved seeing how dedicated Kris was to her work as a researcher, her care in studying and looking after pokémon and the environment. Before either realized it, they were in love and it just felt right.
  • Winona continues to run the Fortree Gym, but she’s considering one of her children as a successor, if that’s what they want. Kris, already working for Professor Elm in Johto before moving to Hoenn to get married, simply started working for Professor Birch instead, and later works closely with Brendan once he takes up his father’s lab coat. She focuses on studying pokémon ecology in and around the Fortree area and how pokémon fit into the natural ecosystem, though she will also do the occasional study on pokémon in other habitats in Hoenn as well.

AntumbraShipping (Elio/Acerola) for the main ship meme plz?

This is from an old ask meme that’s no longer open!

How they first met:
They first met while Elio was taking his Island Challenge. Acerola was, of course, a Trial Captain, but they actually first met in the Malie Library. The two had an animated discussion about Alolan history while Lillie did some research.

Where their first date was:
They start dating a few years after the end of the game’s plot, while in their mid-teens. They had been spending a lot of time together as friends, exploring different parts of Alola, looking for ghosts, playing with the kids at the Aether House, and any number of other fun activities. Over time, they both grew to have feelings for each other and Elio blurted out a confession one evening when they were relaxing by the sea. Acerola happily confessed that she returned his feelings and things didn’t change too much after that, though they decided that they ought to have a proper first date and tried to arrange a fancy lunch that definitely went sideways. They had fun though, and it set the tone for their relationship to come – sometimes not going as planned, but always met with a smile and enthusiasm.

When they had their first kiss:
They had their first kiss on the beach when they confessed to each other! Acerola leant in to smooch Elio as a way of showing she returned his feelings, but they ended up clacking their teeth together. Luckily, they had plenty of time later to practice getting good at kissing.

Who cooks:
They tend to alternate. Acerola has some practice with helping make meals for the other children at the Aether House, so she tends to make meals that their children like, while Elio tends to get a bit more experimental with flavors that he and his wife might enjoy, but perhaps might be a bit much for the kids when they’re younger. He will complain about them not liking his cooking though, saying that Acerola’s kid-friendly meals will make them picky eaters. It ends up becoming a bit of a routine in the house that if the kids can eat a certain amount of Elio’s “New Recipes”, they’ll get some satisfying comfort food from their mama the next night.

Who proposed:
They didn’t have a traditional proposal, deciding together to get married after Lirio is born, but Acerola wanted to shock Nanu, so they invited him over for dinner and Elio made a huge show of proposing to Acerola in front of him. Nanu wasn’t terribly surprised but did his best to react in his own special Nanu way.

The dominant one:
They battle for dominance. It’s all very playful, but things are rarely quiet and mundane for them.

Their favorite pastime together:
They love trying to find new places or things they’ve never seen before. They’ll spend the day researching ancient Alolan sites or rare pokémon in the library, then set out the next day to try and find it. Elio always brings his camera with him to get pictures of what they find, and the two are working on making their own book documenting the sights and history of Alola together.

Who kissed who first:
Acerola kissed Elio!

Who is the flirt:
They’ll flirt with each other for fun in a teasing way, but Acerola tends to be more aggressive about it. She likes coming up with puns and one-liners the most and it’s become somewhat of a competition between the two of them. Flirting contests.

Who is the romantic:
Elio tends to be the one who will come up with spur-of-the-moment romantic gestures, usually catching Acerola by surprise. She’ll always be very bashful about it, “Awww you shouldn’t have~!”, but she loves it to bits. Knowing how much he cares about her.

Who wakes up first:
True to his name, Elio rises with the sun, but Acerola is also a fairly early riser, not wanting to miss any part of the day (and used to having to wake up the kids at the Aether House or her Uncle Nanu when they try to sleep in.)

Who comforts who the most:
While Acerola tries not to dwell on the past too much, she does still miss her father terribly, and Elio does his best to comfort her on days when the pain is especially sharp. She does her best to stay cheerful, but Acerola is comforted by the knowledge that she can show a sadder side around Elio and will open up to him about most anything.

The cuddler:
Both of them! They’re both very physically affectionate and are practically draped over each other all the time. They love just being near each other and cuddling is a favorite pastime.

The big spoon:
Usually Elio!
