10 facts about Margot? :D

10 Facts About Margot Sycamore

  1. When she was very young, Margot wanted to train Grass Types like her mother, however this turned out to be impossible due to her pollen allergy. Most Grass Type pokémon would, at some point during the year, cause her allergies to flare up. However, after rescuing an injured wild Goomy, Margot decides she wants to specialize in Dragon Types instead, not being discouraged that her original goal didn’t pan out.
  2. While she’s very outgoing and rambunctious, Margot is also very fashion conscious, liking to wear cute clothes even if they’re not the most practical. She maintains that her main outfit consisting of a skirt is perfectly fine for running around outdoors since she wears shorts underneath and hiking boots.
  3. While she’s an only child, Margot has always wanted siblings, being somewhat jealous of her cousins (Aurélie, Thomas, and Odette) who are all close in age and get along fairly well. While she gets along somewhat with Aurélie, the two are still rivals, and with Thomas travelling in another region and having little in common with Odette, the cousin Margot ends up closest with is actually Florian. True, he’s once removed and quite a bit older than her, but Margot sees him as an older brother and mentor. Florian in turn thinks of Margot as a little sister, even if they don’t see each other especially frequently.
  4. Margot has always loved historical and fantasy dramas, in book, tv, or movie form. She adores tales of knights and princesses, dragons and heroes, castles and grand battles – anything like that sets her imagination running. This is a big reason why she tags along with Elias on her journey. Elias is a real prince and knows alchemy! He’s so interesting and Margot can’t help but want to get to know him, thus she ends up dragging him along with her as she travels. In turn, Elias finds himself keeping Margot (and her pokémon) out of trouble.
  5. Margot’s team of dragons is particularly rambunctious. Her starter, Fae the Goodra, is very affectionate and loves hugs, which would be fine if it weren’t for her large size and all the slime. Her Haxorus, Hector, loves battling, but tends to charge into things and has a habit of causing collateral damage, often in attempts to show off to her Noivern, Lyn, who is completely oblivious and thinks of the Haxorus as her rival. Then there’s her Altaria, Ninian, who is a bit of a glass cannon and definitely more support focused, though she luckily has her own ‘knight’ in Margot’s Salamence, Eliwood. Her final team member, Idunn the Hydreigon, is the one who has the most trouble ‘clicking’ with the rest of them. She’s newly evolved and still figuring out the shift from Zweilous to Hydreigon, not sure yet of her own power and worried about going overboard. Fae, as the ‘big sis’ of the team ends up being Idunn’s best friend and support partner. Margot does her best to smooth things out so they all get along, but a group of six powerful pokémon will always come with challenges – that’s what being a true Dragon Master is all about though!
  6. Margot is especially interested in Mega Evolution, having two pokémon on her team who can attain it, but Alain is holding off on letting her have a Keystone until he’s sure she’s ready. He doesn’t want her to end up in a similar situation he was in, since despite Team Flare being defeated, there are still other ways she might end up in trouble if she’s not fully ready for the responsibility. Margot complains, but what she doesn’t know is Alain plans on giving her a Keystone and tips for finding Mega Stones once she returns home from her travels in Unova.
  7. Margot inherited Mairin’s clumsy streak, often rushing ahead while travelling and falling out of a tree, down an embankment, into a river… usually leading to Elias or her pokémon having to retrieve her. As a result, she tends to get a lot of various scrapes and bruises and thus always carries a first aid kit with her. When she was little, Mairin was always the one to patch Margot up, kissing her scrapes better, and she was also the one to teach her daughter basic first aid, even writing a little set of (illustrated) instructions to tuck into the kit she gives Margot when she first sets out on her journey.
  8. While some Grass Types trigger her allergies, luckily Chespie is just fine for Margot to hang out with all year round, not having any pollen. Chespie, now fully evolved into a Chesnaught, is Mairin’s ace as a Gym Leader, but in contrast to his battle prowess he’s totally soft on Margot, frequently playing with her when she was young – giving her rides on his back and lifting her up in the air with his vines. Chespie is always included when Margot calls home as well, greeting both his ‘niece’ and her pokémon as well.
  9. Margot’s favorite colors are green and blue and almost all of her clothing is in those colors. She’s picky enough about her fashion that she’ll get grumpy when she has to wear something in a different shade, hating wearing red the most since it ‘clashes’ with her hair. After noticing how fashion-conscious Margot is, Charlotte keeps trying to convince the younger girl to try out at least one Showcase, but Margot is dedicated in her professional trainer path.
  10. Thanks to her love of history, Margot is always eager to visit ruins and historical sights on her and Elias’s travels, though she often ends up disappointed their history isn’t quite as exciting as she builds things up to be. She’d rather hear about epic battles and tragic love stories than boring politics. However, as she grows older, she comes to appreciate some good political intrigue as well. She likes to write ‘original historical fiction’ about the places she travels to (often as semi-self inserts) and post it online. She’s actually got a decent fan following for her works.

since its lesbian visibility day, can we have some headcanons for the characters who identify as lesbian?

[This content is out of date and no longer canon (Mindy/Maddie is no longer canon)]

This is definitely not all the lesbian fankids but it is some who I know a good deal about and haven’t really discussed as much on the blog so I’ll share some hcs!

Mindy (Hugh/Yancy) – She’s your stereotypical ‘mean girl’ contest idol. Winning and being the best is her main focus and she’s very particular about her looks, making sure her hair and outfit is perfect. She likes to pretend she’s ‘above romance’ but this is not true because she is hopelessly in love with her childhood best friend and reluctant idol costar Maddie. Mindy is super tsundere about her crush which leads to Maddie not noticing it all despite having feelings herself. It’s such a silly drama-filled subplot but it suits these two perfectly. Later on, when Maddie really starts pursuing her dream of becoming Unova Champion, Mindy (who is her gf at this point) is her number one supporter and proudly proclaims herself to be the ‘future Champion’s future wife.’

Joan (Skyla/Elesa) – A hopeless romantic at heart, Joan tends to live in her own world. She’s a dreamer and lives life at her own pace, following the things that catch her eye. As a freelance journalist (she had trouble holding down a job when working directly for a publication), Joan is always chasing after a shiny new story… and picking up new crushes along the way. Her longest-running object of affection was Tipha, the bombshell baseball star. Joan would go to all of Tipha’s games she could attend and just… stare wistfully. It got to the point that her twin sister Jerrie had to intervene and tell her she was just going to end up breaking her own heart in the end. However, when Joan decides to investigate Castelia’s organized crime, she’s in for a surprise when she meets dangerously charming femme fatale Cicely. And well… let’s just say the feeling was mutual. A journalist and a professional criminal may not be the most conventional of couples but there’s certainly no love lost between Joan and Cicely!

Charlotte (Sawyer/Miette) – Charlotte is a Princess. But what she wants is to be a Queen. As one of the star up-and-coming Performers in Kalos, Charlotte often feels a lot of pressure to maintain a certain image, but at the same time, she loves dressing up fancy and being the center of attention. She’s the sort who can manage both well, which is why she ends up helping fellow Performer Isabeau with stress management. Isabeau can be uptight and hard on herself, so Charlotte does her best to help the other girl learn to be easier on herself and enjoy Performing as a passion rather than stress over it till it becomes a chore. The two are very similar in some ways, but very different in others, so they compliment each other well and the romance was a slow, gentle thing that just naturally progressed as they grew closer. It’s one of the most ‘90s shoujo-manga rose filled sparkly’ romances I have with the fankids so far!

OrangeRibbon Kids

I drew some concept sketches of my OrangeRibbonShipping daughters, so I thought I’d share them here as well!

Charlotte is the oldest of the three sisters. She’s a performer and likes to think of her self as an elegant noblewoman or princess. She’s very refined and pays attention to her manners and etiquette.

Suzette is the middle daughter and is a connoisseur. She especially likes baking (having learned from her mother) and her specialty is crepes (like her namesake!) She’s a bit on the haughty side but is actually quite sensitive underneath that.

Madeleine is the youngest sister and is a competitive trainer. When she was young, she followed Sawyer around everywhere asking about all sorts of things, so he gave her a notebook (similar to his own) to write everything she learned in. She now writes strategies and ideas for her battles as she challenges the Kalos Gyms with her starter, Froakie.

All three are named after French desserts, in homage to Miette’s theme!
