Cypress: I would be suspicious.
Acacia: Imagine if you came home one night and everyone was like, quietly reading.
Cypress: I would be suspicious.
Oh gosh this might be a bit tough, but I’ll do my best!
Well… to start out, while not fankids, the OC/Legendary parent ships of Yves/Alexandrine and Yulia/Evgeny both draw intentional influence from Tangled. Yves has some Rapunzel elements in that he’s a long-lost prince on a quest to return to his kingdom without knowing his true identity. Evgeny was intentionally designed to be a bit of a Eugene expy, from his (former) occupation as a thief, to his romance with a princess, and just his name.
As for fankids though:
Sage & Celeste would make a fine Robin Hood & Maid Marian.
Luna & Nerissa would be cute as Snow White & Prince Ferdinand, or as Princess Aurora & Prince Philip.
Cypress & Apollon could work as Tarzan & Jane (in an AU where Cypress was raised by dragons until adulthood and not just until he was 8.)
Ceres & Callisto would make a pretty darn adorable Rapunzel & Eugene for the fankids (they could also work in some…. Russian version of the Aladdin story with Callisto as the titular hero and Ceres as the princess.)
Levi & Rhys are Ariel and Eric. They’ve probably dressed up as these characters before. They know what they’re about. Levi is the handsome merman and Rhys is his charming musical prince.
Draco & Addie could be an interesting Beast/Prince Adam and Belle, since Draco’s character arc involves him confronting his anger issues and part of the reason he ends up dating and marrying Addie is the support she gave him during that difficult period of his life.
Yvon & Aurélie could be cute as Kristoff & Anna.
Mindy would make an excellent Meg, but Maddie doesn’t really fit Hercules that much.
Honestly, I think for a lot of these I just can’t quite pick a Disney couple that matches well in terms of dynamics and story elements with the various fankid ships, while I do actually have plenty of fankid ships that sound like they ought to be Disney couples (like Elias and Margot…. a shy prince and an outgoing, dragon-obsessed girl.) I’m also not familiar with too many Disney couples, having only seen most Disney movies once, and probably a long time ago to boot. I’m happy to hear others’ opinions on this matter though, or if you have a fankid ship you’d like to know more about.

Best places to kiss on their body
Draco prefers to be the dominant one in relationships, so perhaps as a result he can be quite sensitive to others kissing him. His weak spot is the entire region from his jaw to his collarbone, so any kisses there tend to make him a bit weak in the knees. Addie likes to joke he must have secret fantasies about sleeping with a vampire considering how much he likes being kissed/bitten on the neck. Draco finds this ridiculous and actually starts wearing high-collared jackets and shirts once he realizes his weak spot, both to ‘protect’ it and cover up the inevitable marks he gets there. Aside from his neck, his second most sensitive kissing spot is his thighs, but he rarely lets anyone take advantage of that.
9. Humiliating memories
Though he likes to appear confident and put together, Draco is actually quite self-conscious, so he has a number of embarrassing (even if only to him) memories. One of them is when, during his first hookup with Florian, the other man completely turned the tables on him and ended up being the top. Draco was so flustered by the entire situation that he lost all composure and (in his opinion) made a fool of himself. He was embarrassed enough that he just left Florian with no word for a few weeks after that until Flor contacted him again. Then the fact that Draco agreed to hookup again was another embarrassment since he had been determined not to give in and do something humiliating again.
Another embarrassing memory is when he was in Hoenn and got into a fight with Maia about his treatment of her younger brother, Apollon. Draco was confident he could beat the older woman in a pokémon battle and made a big show of how he was going to crush her without breaking a sweat, but in the end he got utterly trounced by her, only managing to take down two of her pokémon before being defeated. The loss was so hard on him and so humiliating that he locked himself in his hotel room for a few days until Maia came by to give him some stern life advice, though that was embarrassing for Draco as well, since not only did he lose horribly to her, he also ended up getting lectured like a little kid.
15. What it takes to make them cry
Draco cries surprisingly easily, mostly when he’s frustrated or angry. He hates this trait and suppresses it whenever he can, often going off by himself if he feels the tears starting up. He hates anything that contradicts the ‘suave, aggressive, confident, bad boy’ persona he’s built up around himself, and that includes crying when he’s upset. When he’s around people he trusts though, like family, he’s a bit freer with his emotions, and Addie has found him in tears because he couldn’t open a jar before. She finds it rather endearing, that there’s a somewhat sensitive guy under all the rough exterior.
16. Dark secrets/’skeletons in the closet’
Draco has two big secrets, so to speak. The first is that he found out Ethan was his father when he was fairly young, but never told anyone he knew. Lance and Ethan wanted to keep Draco’s parentage a secret to avoid conflict, but Draco was able to figure out that his dad’s close friend who was always around and also looked a bit like him was his father pretty quickly. Draco immediately assumed the worst case and most dramatic scenarios he could think of as to why his parents kept his parentage a secret, so he grew to be somewhat resentful of Ethan as a result, refusing to talk with him and the like. This does eventually get cleared up when Draco’s older, however, though he never has a super close relationship with Ethan, despite the latter’s efforts.
The other big secret is that Noel’s other father is Cypress. Now, the majority of Draco’s family and friends back in Johto know vaguely who Noel’s other parent is, but Draco never tells Cypress. He doesn’t seem to realize the irony of the situation, that it’s similar to what happened between him and Ethan. Cypress will eventually find out he has a son, however, and when he does there will a be lot of drama for everyone involved.
20. What-ifs/Alternate Timelines
The original incarnation of Draco had a completely different personality and backstory to the current one. He was the son of Lance and his random oc wife and was meant to be a foil to Adelinda. Adelinda was the serious, no-nonsense cousin and Draco was meant to be more laid back and mischievous, sort of a ‘prankster bro’ type of character. Adelinda would be annoyed that her easygoing cousin was the clan heir instead of her and the two would have a conflict over that, though Draco would eventually prove he was a competent leader despite his unorthodox methods.
As Lance’s story changed, however, so did Draco’s. The rough order of when I added things went something like 1) What if Lance’s wife was dead, 2) What if Lance had another kid before Draco who was also dead, 3) What if Lance had a tragic childhood and was the kid of a dragon-god, 4) What if Lance’s dead wife was Liza, 5) What if there was a Faller Noelle? The former Draco just didn’t make sense after all these changes, so the moody disaster man we have today came to be.
As a bit of a follow-up to my previous post about Iris and Benga’s family, I’ll go into a bit more detail here about all their kids and the family dynamic. Warning – this gets really long.
For starters, Iris and Benga certainly didn’t plan on having six kids. When they first discussed starting a family, they decided that two was a good number. Both of them are fairly busy people, Iris especially since she’s the Champion. Benga is also somewhat often away from home due to his work as a Pokémon Ranger (the wildlife/parks kind, not the capture styler kind). Neither of them wanted to create the stressful situation of trying to balance a busy work life and a large family, since it wouldn’t be fair to the kids.
Acacia was born first and all in all, everything went well. The pregnancy was smooth and there were few complications in the whole process. She was quite the boisterous baby, which was just a hint of how wild she’d be as she grew up, but between the two of them, her parents were able to lead her through all her milestones, from first steps to first day of preschool. With everything going so well with Acacia, Iris and Benga decided to try for their second, and in theory final, kid. Acacia was just about to turn four when Iris discovered she was pregnant and the whole family was elated. What was unexpected, however, was when they later found out that Iris was going to be having twins. She and Benga were nervous about having three kids, but they both knew they could make it work and promised each other that, when it came down to it, family was more important that work. Acacia went around telling all her preschool classmates that she was going to be a ‘double big sister’, while Iris spent large amounts of time trying to come up with matching names and Benga got very emotional about matching baby outfits.
When Iris was about seven and a half months pregnant, the second unexpected addition to the family occurred. Benga was on a longer assignment to a more secluded area of a national park in northern Unova, when he returned to his camp one morning to find a wild-looking kid and a young deino doing their very best to bite their way through the wrapper of some of his granola bars. Both parties were very surprised, to say the least. Luckily, being dragonblood himself, Benga can naturally understand dragontongue and was able to communicate with the two (or at least understand them, being unable to actually speak dragontongue himself). After some back and forth, and with some help from his haxorous as a translator, Benga was able to figure out the the boy had been adopted and raised by the deino’s parents after being abandoned. He was able to convince the two youngsters to take him to their parents, which then led to a very long conversation that ended with Benga agreeing to take the boy and his dragon sister to be raised among humans, which his parents agreed was what was best for him. By the time the trio made it back to the nearest town, the boy and dragon had both grown quite attached to Benga and protested quite loudly when the authorities tried to separate them in any way. Benga had to admit he’d grown fond of the two kids as well, and agreed to look after them ‘temporarily’. This was how Iris, nearing the end of her pregnancy, tired and stressed from both that and the demanding job of being Champion, not to mention looking after her excitable daughter, went to greet her husband returned from a weekend away for work to find he had brought back a feral child and a wild dragon with him. Needless to say, she was not impressed.
While things definitely got off to a rocky start, Iris, and especially Acacia and her axew companion, warmed up quickly to the latest additions to the family. Iris and Benga decided to name the boy Cypress, as it was a male name they had wanted for a child, but since Acacia and Iris’ upcoming twins were girls, had never had the chance to use. It was originally intended to be a temporary name, but Cypress grew attached to it quickly and it’s stuck ever since. After his first checkup, the family pediatrician discovered that while Cypress was half dragonblood, he had significant heritage from an unknown supernatural source as well. Since in some areas, such unions are stigmatized, it brought up the theory that Cypress had been abandoned due to his heritage. Since Benga’s father had been an unknown being his mother, Kino, had had a one night stand with, and he grew up somewhat ostracized for not being fully human, Cypress’ plight resonated with him, and he was all the more determined to take care of the boy.
Cypress was a quick learner, in no small part thanks to his hatred of being left out, so he devoted as much effort as an eight year old could spare to learning how speak League Standard and Unovan, as well as read and write in those languages. Jasmine and Clementine were born not long after Cypress joined the family, and for a while after that things went as smoothly as they could in this boisterous household. Acacia started kindergarten, Cypress was well on his way to catching up enough to start school in a couple years, the twins were growing from babies into toddlers with all the joy and tears that come with, and Iris and Benga were settling into the routine of being working parents with a large family. Benga was taking more time off from work and eventually got a job in the Parks Service that let him be closer to Opelucid all the time. And then, seemingly out of the blue, Iris discovered that she was pregnant again.
It took her a while to realize the symptoms, and the discovery caught her and Benga completely off guard. They did consider terminating the pregnancy, but ultimately decided that they would go through with it, as they were both willing to handle the responsibility. Cypress and Acacia were both excited when they found out, since they both liked being older siblings to the twins. Jasmine and Clementine were a bit too young to understand, but the energy of their siblings got them excited for their new sibling as well. Things got a bit tense, however, when Iris found out she was, yet again, having twins. There was a point where she speculated that she must be cursed, or that her family must be cursed when she considered that her cousin/adoptive sister Phoebe had had triplets. On top of it all, the second set of twins were a rough pregnancy that led to a difficult delivery, culminating in Iris needing a c-section after a painfully long labor. Laurel and Poppy were finally born in the early morning of December 25, which led to plenty of comments on how they were special holiday gifts. Iris was not particularly amused.
Following the stress of the second set of twins, Iris and Benga both decided to have their ability to have children removed, just to be double sure there would be no more accidents in the future. Laurel and Poppy proved to be fairly well behaved babies, and thanks to the help of friends and family, Iris and Benga managed to raise them and the four other kids into productive adults and ambitious teens. Iris managed to continue her Champion work with the energy and passion she’s famous for, leading to her gaining even more of a reputation as someone not to mess with consider she makes time to be a mother as well as lead a region. Benga started working part-time and being a stay-at-home dad for the most part, which he loved and the kids appreciated. All in all, Iris and Benga certainly never planned on such a large family, but looking at the kids now and all their memories, the couple wouldn’t trade them for the world.

This is more a rough sketch of chibis than anything and none of these designs, especially outfits, are final, but I thought I’d post it here anyway! From left to right and in age order, Cypress, Acacia, Jasmine, Clementine, Laurel, and Poppy. Cypress is adopted and was initially raised by wild dragons for 7 years after being abandoned in the woods of northern Unova by his birth parents. He currently works for a wildlife conservation organization that specializes in rare pokémon, where his ability to fluently speak dragontongue is invaluable. Maia and Sieg both work for the same group. Acacia is a huge fan of rock music and currently works in Roxie’s gym, where she is also in a band with the Leader’s kids, Sunna and Lunen. She’s got a loud personality and loves wearing mismatched outfits in clashing colors. Jasmine and Clementine are identical twins who both love fashion. Jaz designs and sews outfits and Clem coordinates and models them. The two want to make it in the professional fashion world when they’re older. Jaz always wears cool colors and has a more preppy style, while Clem always wears warm colors and has a more cutesy style. Laurel and Poppy are the youngest and are fraternal twins. Despite their feminine names, they are both boys. They have completely opposite personalities, with Laurel being mischievous and outgoing, always telling some crazy new story, and Poppy being more withdrawn and shy, but also more impulsive and likely to pull crazy stunts out of nowhere. Despite this, they are very close and are rarely seen apart. They are too young to go on their journey, but they both want to be professional trainers, and maybe Gym Leaders or Elite Four one day. Between all of the siblings there’s a wide range of ages, with Cypress being 24 all the way down to the youngest twins being 14, but they all get along pretty well. They’re a rambunctious family (though after Cy and Acacia move out this tones down a bit) but all love each other a lot.
After falling out with Lance, Draco leaves home to travel the world. Along the way he ends up in quite a few romantic relationships, none of which end well. Essentially, when he arrives to a new place, he ends up dating someone, but since he never plans on staying long, he ends up breaking up with them before long. Most of the people he dates aren’t too happy about this and Draco now rivals Ramona Flowers for number of antagonistic exes. The first place Draco went was Unova, where he almost immediately hooked up with Tipha and broke up with her almost as quickly. There were some hard feelings, but all things considered it was one of his most amicable breakups. After Unova, Draco headed to Kalos, where he started dating Basil. That relationship ended when Basil found out Draco planned on ditching him and Draco ended up getting kicked out of Baz’s apartment in a very dramatic fashion. Draco’s next stop was Hoenn, where he started a very spite-filled relationship with Apollon that mostly involved the two of them sitting around and insulting people. It was never a super serious relationship, but Draco ended up hooking up with Suzi at some point when he was still dating Apollon, later dumping Apollon in favor of Suzi after Apollon found out about the cheating. Of course, he and Suzi didn’t last long as barely a month later, Draco left for Sinnoh with barely any word. In Sinnoh, Draco had what was probably his least drama-filled and healthiest relationship with Verity. The drama from Hoenn had stressed Draco out and he was ready to just chill a bit in Sinnoh and the easy-going Verity was perfect for that. He was upfront from the start that it wouldn’t last, and the two enjoyed some nice time together before Draco decided to head to Alola – the only place where he didn’t date anyone. Finally, his last stop before heading back home at long last after a good couple of years, Draco returned to Unova, and somewhat accidentally started dating Cypress. He had planned on it being a quick thing like all his other relationships, but unlike his previous partners, Draco was Cypress’ first real romantic relationship and Draco had no idea how to easily let Cypress go. The whole thing culminated in an explosive fight and breakup when Draco announced he was returning to his home region and planned on staying. Both of them left the relationship feeling horrible and to this day, Cypress hates capes due to associating them with Draco. Perhaps the only good thing to come of that disastrous relationship was that, later on, Cypress and Apollon would bond over their dislike of Draco when they end up dating. Draco, on his part, returns home, makes up with his father, and settles down with his childhood friend and sweetheart, Addie.
