2. Who do they look to for guidance?
Cyril definitely goes to his parents, Yves & Alexandrine, for guidance a lot! They may not be as knowledgeable about life in modern times, but their lives have given them a lot of experience in dealing with things most people haven’t, so they often are able to give Cyril a unique perspective on things and advice he wouldn’t have considered otherwise. 

Apart from his parents, Cyril also looks up to Korrina and Siebold’s families a lot. The siblings helped his parents settle in Shalour after they returned to their human forms, and are like an aunt and uncle to Cyril (same goes for Chili and Alexa.) Korrina helped Cyril get his first starter pokémon, Siebold’s son Sylvestre is best friend, and just in general the families are all very close. When his parents aren’t the right people to seek guidance from, Cyril will usually go to Korrina or Siebold.

18. Neck kisses or shoulder kisses?
Cyril is technically kind of an omega at heart, so neck kisses all the way! Especially after he and Laurel mate bond. Laurel might not be able to bite him to “officially” seal the deal, but Cyril still loves it when his boyfriend kisses him on the neck. (Or maybe he likes it because Laurel can’t mate bite him. Instinctually wants Laurel’s touch there.) Plus, as someone who’s pretty sensitive to touch, his neck is more of a sweet spot. He does love shoulder kisses too though! Any kiss from Laurel is a good one.

30. What is their ideal sleeping situation?
Cyril is someone who sleeps best when he’s very cozy. He wears soft pajamas (fluffy sweatpants, sweaters, flannels, etc) and likes to cocoon himself in blankets, even in the summer. After everything that happens, he also grows used to cuddling with someone as he sleeps, so once he and Laurel move in together he always takes advantage of that to snuggle up with his beloved. If Laurel isn’t there for whatever reason, he’ll cuddle with one of his or Laurel’s pokémon (or multiple of them) instead, just liking having someone there while he’s sleeping, a comforting other presence.

2. What trait does your OC like best about themself? (Eyes, guitar skills, random bird facts, etc)

Cyril has pretty low self esteem, so he has trouble finding personal traits that he likes best, but if he had to choose it would probably be his compassion. Cyril is very empathetic and sensitive to other’s feelings, always happy to lend a hand or a shoulder to lean on. He tries to help others whenever he can, even when he’s not feeling great himself. He’s very much the type of person to selflessly dedicate himself to someone else’s wellbeing (such as his relationship with Laurel.)

7. What is your OC’s opinion on body modifications?

From personal experience, he’s definitely not a fan of them on himself. He doesn’t mind others having them since they’re free to do what they want, but he’d really prefer to not having any himself. 

10. Would your OC prefer to live in the city, the suburbs, or the country?

Cyril grew up in the suburbs of Shalour and he would want to continue to live in the suburbs. He doesn’t want to live in any isolated or rural area, but the big crowds of the city also make him nervous. Suburbs where he has space but also plenty of neighbors in sight are just right.

20. A obscure/ridiculous fear your OC has?

It’s not obscure or ridiculous at all, but after his kidnapping and captivity, Cyril is very wary of it happening again and tends to shut himself in his room, afraid of going outside even with others. Over time he’s able to work up to going outside, on walks, and eventually on day trips, but for a while it’s something he struggles with.

An actual obscure/ridiculous fear of his would be that, for a while, he was afraid of bat pokémon. During a family outing when he was young, he wandered away from his parents to go exploring and found a small cave. When he poked his head in, he startled a flock of Zubat and Golbat, who all flew out of the cave right into him, terrifying him. For quite a few years after that, Cyril was afraid of any bat pokémon, though he begins to grow more comfortable around them after catching his Noibat.

29. Someone does something awful in front of your OC. How do they handle it?

It depends on what the awful thing was. While he was kidnapped, Cyril saw a lot of awful things being done to other people (and to himself), to the point he just had to get used to it as best he could. Once he’s back home, however, seeing something similar happen without meaning to distresses him a lot, which is part of why he becomes somewhat of a shut-in. Even if he’s unlikely to witness similar things now that he’s home, he doesn’t want to risk having a flashback or getting into trouble, so it’s safer to stay in his room/home where he knows he can control what he sees/what happens. 

31. Does your OC prefer to sleep in a warm or cool area?

Cyril likes to bundle up as he sleeps in comfortable pajamas or sweats, so sleeping in a cooler area is preferable. He also becomes very fond of cuddling someone else as he sleeps (generally Laurel when they’re together), so a cooler area makes doing that more cozy.

Laurel/Ascher, Lukas/Maela, and Thomas/Jasmine would make good couples.

Laurel/Ascher: I like it. They’re both very similar but in a way that would lead to a lot of really amusing interactions. Laurel is angry and a smartass and Ascher is angry and a dumbass it’s beautiful. They’d be one of those couples who’re always arguing but that’s just how they show affection. Laurel teases Ascher and Ascher gets all tsun about it but he’s secretly blushing on the inside. I don’t know how they would meet but I can totally see this pairing as an endgame possibility for these two. Just need to work out their stories a bit more.

Lukas/Maela: This one is… really good. Like why didn’t I think of it before good. In case it wasn’t obvious from their names, Lukas and Ascher are supposed to be expies/inspired by Luke and Asch from Tales of the Abyss (they are far from the only fankids like this but that’s for another day). So when considering their love interests, I have to keep that in mind. I didn’t realize it until now but… Maela is actually by coincidence very similar to Tear from the same game. They have the same hair and eye color, as well as similar personalities. Thus, it makes a lot of sense for her and Lukas to get along well and have chemistry. I’m not sure how they’d meet since I’m still working on their individual stories but this pairing out of the three in this post is the most likely to happen!

Jasmine/Thomas: I’m going to be blunt and admit I don’t really know what’s going on with Thomas. He’s giving me a lot of trouble with his characterization and motivations beyond the basics so I can’t really pin down how he’d interact with others just yet. I’m sure I’ll hit a breakthrough soon enough and be able to figure out what he’s up to, but for now I’m holding off on pairings since I just don’t know much about him yet. I’m also still working out Jasmine’s travelling plans, like what regions she’d go to, so this is another ship where I’m not sure how/when they’d meet, let alone how they’d interact.
