Adult Designs: May & Lyra!

May becomes a Frontier Brain, specializing in a challenge based on the battle round of Contests called the Battle Stage – and she’s the Stage Princess! Her outfit (somewhat inspired by Lucy’s flashy fashion) is inspired by Mega Rayquaza and Latias, two Legendary Pokémon she befriended during her journey.

Lyra becomes the Violet City Gym Leader after a period serving as one of Falkner’s gym trainers. Like her mentor she specializes in flying types. Her outfit is inspired by her ace, Togekiss, and flight attendants! (She also serves as co-leader of the Shadow G-Men special ops organization formed from the remnants of Team Rocket, though that’s her secret identity!)

Main Four Family Trees

Like a year ago I started making a big family tree for this verse after Pkmn Down the Line did some (they’re on twitter and used to be on the profiles if anyone’s curious!), then promptly got distracted by something else. I got the urge to return to it, realized I now hated how it looked, so just decided to start from scratch!

To start out, I kept it simple with just the main four kids and their parents and siblings, but I definitely plan on doing more when I have the time here and there!

I think they’re pretty straight forward, the only thing I’ll mention is that the purple line means the kid (in this case Emery and Bal) is adopted.

Why did Lyra take over the Violet Gym? Is Falkner kind of releated to her? (oop- i ship them xD)

Lyra took over the Violet Gym because Falkner chose her as his successor! They’re not related apart from her deciding to work at the Gym at some point after the end of the HGSS story. Lyra, in this verse, likes Flying-types and wanted to continue being a pokémon trainer and hone her skills, so she gets a job as a Gym Trainer at the Violet Gym. Eventually, she ends up becoming Falkner’s right hand, essentially, so when he marries Janine and moves to Kanto, he chooses her as his replacement. Even when he later moves back to Johto, Falkner doesn’t take his previous position, so Lyra continues to be the Violet Gym leader into the fankid era, specializing in Flying-types like her mentor.

As for shipping them – I can definitely see Lyra having a bit of a crush on him at least! Though I doubt it went both ways since Falkner was already either with, or at least close to dating, Morty at that point, I think.

Leaf
– My NOTP for them
Well, since I headcanon her and Red to be siblings, I feel a bit weird seeing them shipped together. (BurningLeafShipping)  
– My BROTP for them
Aside from her and Red as siblings, I like the idea of Leaf being good friends with both the Let’s Go characters, being their age and going on a journey with them in the fankid AU, as well as being good friends with Lyra, Ethan, and Silver.
– My OTP for them
Leaf/Blue (ConflictingShipping)
– My second choice pairing for them
Leaf/Silver (ReturnToStartShipping) has grown on me. I like them as close friends so a romantic ship is a possible alternate to that.
– My fluffy pairing for them
I write Leaf/Blue as pretty fluffy, but the true fluffy Leaf ship is Leaf/Yellow (CrushedWordShipping), despite the ship name since Yellow makes almost any ship fluffy.
– My angsty pairing for them
I can see Leaf/Silver being pretty angsty since it’s a ship that I can’t really see lasting, despite enjoying the dynamic.
– My favorite poly ship for them
Leaf/Blue/Misty could be pretty cute I think.
– My weirdest pairing for them
I suppose Leaf/Yellow? They come from different canons at least.

Lyra

Lyra/Ethan. I like them as best friends.

Lyra/Silver. (SoulSilverShipping). This would be for game!protag!Lyra as opposed to any other one.
– My second choice pairing for them
I think Lyra/Lance (TrickyShipping) is cute and used to ship it more seriously when I was younger. Maybe it would be cute for if Ethan was protag instead of her since I have bff!Ethan with Lance in the fankid AU. 
– My fluffy pairing for them
Lyra/Khoury (JohtoFestaShipping). This is the ship I like for anime!Lyra.
– My angsty pairing for them
I gave her and Silver a decent amount of angst in the fankid AU so…
– My favorite poly ship for them
Lyra/Silver/Ethan (SamisenShipping) or Lyra/Lance/Ethan, but I see the latter as being less realistic.

None really? I tend to ship her with more popular ships.

Lucas

Lucas/Dawn. I really like them as close friends, regardless of role or universe.
– My OTP for them
Lucas/Barry (ClingyShipping.) It doesn’t matter if Lucas is the protag or assistant this is the OTP.
– My second choice pairing for them
I just can’t see Lucas/Dawn as being romantic, and don’t really think about Lucas ships beyond Clingy, but a ship that could be interesting is Lucas/Cynthia (JocastaShipping).
– My fluffy pairing for them
Lucas/Barry.
– My angsty pairing for them
Maybe unrequited Lucas/Dawn or Lucas/Cynthia?

Even though I don’t ship Lucas/Dawn, I like the idea of Dawn/Barry/Lucas (ScarfShipping).

I guess Lucas/Cynthia but I don’t really ship it seriously.

Calem
– My NOTP for them
Don’t have one to be honest, but I guess the obligatory ‘I hc them as related so I find the ship weird’ of Calem/Sycamore (KerrShipping) and Calem/Alain. 
– My BROTP for them
Considering I hc them as actual brothers, I’ll put Calem/Alain here, but the actual answer would probably be Calem/Shauna. I hc them as each other’s best childhood friends.
– My OTP for them
Calem/Serena (KalosShipping).

Calem/Emma (GrowingUpShipping) is pretty cute.

Calem/Serena.

Calem/Lysandre and it’s all @sydchan‘s fault. But uhh…. this would be in an anime!AU or where Calem is the protagonist since in the fankid AU he saw Lysandre as a father figure so a ship between them would be Weird.
