Who do Avery and Klara end up with?

I’ve gotten this ask maybe three times so this will be in answer to all of them. As of right now, I’ve finished the story portion of the Isle of Armor DLC and am fairly confident I know what I’m doing with these two.

Avery is most likely going to be endgame with Milo. Marigold is their daughter, but they’re not a couple when she’s born. They later do end up settling down together which is when they’ll most likely have another child, a son named Forsythe. I’m leaning towards Avery either taking over Milo’s Gym or being a Gym Trainer for Bede or a combination of both where he does one first then the other.

Klara most likely remains single. I’m leaning towards her becoming the Stow-On-Side Gym Leader and being rivals with Marnie in the classic pop vs punk battle. She’ll (faux reluctantly) babysit for Avery and Milo’s children though, and probably the BedeVic army of children as well.

Galar Fankids

As of right now, my Galar fankids are fairly set in stone. I think I’ve got a good number of them and a good idea of who they are. They’re not on the family page yet since I need to come up with surnames for all of them, but as soon as I do that they’ll be posted. That said, I figured I should share what I have so far!

Gloria/Hop: They’ve got two kids, an older boy named Neil and a younger girl named Caelia. Amusingly, despite being the protagonists, their children have the least development. I know more about their relationships with other fankids than I do about their personalities. I’m sure I’ll know more about them eventually though, since these things take time.

Victor/Bede: Two boys, named Ambrose and Robin. Both were accidents and born before the two really properly started dating, Ambrose being born sooner after the game timeline ends (since dumb teens, but Victor was really committed to helping his friend out once Bede found out he was expecting even if the two weren’t dating at the time) and Robin about 5 years after. They grow closer as a result of having a kid though and probably end up marrying when Robin is a toddler or something, though I’m not sure yet. Ambrose was a sickly child but he grows up to be kind of really annoying and pretentious and dresses like a 18th century period romance hero. He’s rivals with Chelsea and Merrill (mentioned down below). Robin is a sensitive boy and a bit of a crybaby, but he’s also able to take care of himself and anyone who makes him cry is going to regret it. He’s only a year or so older than Neil and Bede and Hop wanted them to be rivals but the cousins are best friends instead. They travel together.

Marnie/Allister: My one rarepair/crackship so far. I just thought they’d get along and paired them moreso since I wanted to explore Allister rather than Marnie, who I would have been happy keeping single. They have a son named Damian who’s Very Goth (but like, refined Victorian goth). He starts out as a trainer but eventually realizes he’d rather be a coordinator. He’s rivals with Caelia and around the same age as her (so his parents take longer than other couples to get together.)

Milo: He’s a single dad. His daughter, Marigold, was originally actually a grandkid and I made a post about her a while back, but I’ve decided to scrap that angle. So she’s his bio daughter rather than adopted. Milo just has such dad energy I couldn’t not give him a kid, but him staying single was planned from very early on.

Nessa/Sonia: They’ve got a daughter named Susanna. She’s a scientist like her mother and great-grandmother, though she’s more interested in ecology rather than legends like Sonia is. She’s beautiful (of course) and has many admirers, but she’s got no time for any of that. Science is the only thing on her mind. So she’s got a bit of a reputation for being aloof as a result.

Raihan/Piers: Friends-with-benefits turned boyfriends. Their twins, Chelsea & Merrill (or Chell & Rill as they often go by), were accidents and are initially raised mostly by Piers, since he and Raihan weren’t living together at the time, but they visited Raihan and Leon a lot as well, coming to stay more permanently when they’re around 10 and Piers gets a big break as a musician, leading to him traveling more. They’re hellions, basically, and love to cause trouble and just shake things up. They’re also the oldest fankids for the region and were in the year after the game events.

Raihan/Leon: Raihan and Piers got together first, but Leon ended up fitting in nicely with their relationship (there was a bit of drama sorting things out at first but it all works out fine in the end and they’re all happy together.) He and Raihan live in Hammerlocke together and they’ve got a daughter named Nasrin who’s maybe a couple years younger than her half-siblings. She’s very much a celebrity trainer and probably like an Instagram model or something. Very concerned with her appearance and skills as a trainer. She wants to beat Champion Victor one day to “win back Leon’s honor”… or something. Chell & Rill tease her relentlessly and she’s very fed up with them and pretends they don’t exist which just spurs them on.

Basile’s Daughter

[This content is out of date and no longer canon (Basile most likely does not have a kid anymore. Marigold has been repurposed as Milo’s daughter.]

So. @sydchan and I had a bit of a pact that when she revealed that Marcel has a child while as a teen, I would reveal my own teen-pregnancy subplot I’ve had brewing for a while. I was debating making this canon or not, as I wasn’t sure if it fit the tone of the blog, but eventually I decided that, since teen pregnancy does of course happen in real life and is not uncommon and since this subplot ended up becoming important to the character in question, it’s now official.

In case it wasn’t obvious from the title, Basile is the one becoming a teenage father. Growing up on the streets from a young age, he didn’t exactly get the best education (or much of one at all) so when he grew into his teen years and decided to start experimenting a bit, protection wasn’t as forefront in his mind as it should have been. As such, he ends up unexpectedly pregnant and has no idea what to do about it. He doesn’t notice until a few months in, not knowing the signs and assuming he was just sick. When he does confirm that he’s pregnant, he has no idea what to do. After weighing his options, he realizes that the best he can do is try and stay healthy and hope that things work themselves out.

When he’s maybe 5 months along is when he first meets Cilan, just by chance as Basile was scavenging for useful trash behind the Lumiose Gym and Cilan was disposing of some broken inventions of Clemont’s. Obviously concerned for this pregnant teen who looks to be homeless, Cilan offers to help Baz, maybe get him a warm meal or something, and not one to turn down a chance at free food, Baz agrees. They end up going the restaurant Cilan worked at before he joined the Lumiose Gym crew and Basile explains his situation over a panini and hot chocolate. Cilan is, of course, sympathetic to Baz’s situation, in no small part since he and his brothers once had to fend for themselves on the streets as well way back when they were children. Basile definitely plays up his sad orphan story though, since he’s hoping that this well-off seeming guy will be able to help him out since he has no other options he can think of.

In the end, Basile is taken in by Cilan and Clemont. Clemont is initially surprised at the sudden new teenage member of the household, but once he understands the situation he’s very welcoming of Baz. Verbena and Cori, both fairly young children at this point, are more intrigued at the newcomer (Cori asks his fathers if this means they’re getting two new siblings.) While Baz settles in, Cilan sets to work trying to track down the teen’s identity, which doesn’t end up coming to anything since it turns out Baz doesn’t have a birth certificate. Meanwhile, Basile is busy going over options for his future child with Clemont, eventually deciding on an open adoption. After looking over profiles of different potential parents, Baz decides on a couple from Galar (names currently not mentioned since they’ll likely be yet-to-be-revealed-canon characters.) Over the next few months, Baz stays in touch with the couple and once the due date finally arrives, they fly down to Kalos to be there for their daughter’s birth.

Basile’s daughter, Marigold, is born on October 5, 3632. He named her after the flower for her birth month. After a couple days in the hospital, Marigold ends up going home with her adoptive parents, and while he’s sad to part with her, Baz knows that her parents will send him regular updates and that he’ll hopefully be able to see her again in the future. And now he can focus on finally being part of a family after so long on his own. Cilan and Clemont formally adopt him and he’s able to start school and catch up on his education, go on a journey, and even meet his long lost half brother. When Marigold is around 5 years old, her parents bring her on vacation to Kalos so she can properly meet her birth father and after that Baz tries to visit her (or arrange for her to visit him) regularly about twice a year. Marigold is aware that Basile is her birth father, but she sees him as more of a cool uncle, which Baz is fine with, since he’s just happy she’s happy, knowing she’s getting a better life than he could have given her. Marigold will likely show up more in the future, since she’s technically my first (or the first?) Gen 8 fankid.
