7, 11, 24, 36, 45, 50 (chosen randomly haha) for the Oak Boys!

7. What is your OC’s opinion on body modifications?

Roy: He finds the less extreme ones like tattoos and piercings cool on other people, but isn’t sure if he wants them himself. If he were to get some kind of body modification it would probably be a tattoo.

Sage: He doesn’t care what other people do to themselves but he doesn’t want any body modifications himself since things like needles make him nervous.

11. Is your OC a blanket hog?

Roy: Yes. If it’s cold he’ll sleep wrapped up like a burrito and if it’s hot he’ll kick all the blankets onto the floor, but either way he’s a blanket hog.

Sage: Not really. He’s a sound sleeper and doesn’t move around much.

24. Something you like that your OC would hate?

Roy: Cold weather.

Sage: Linguistics.

36. Your OC’s favorite fashion era? (20’s, 70’s, etc)

Roy: 90s preppy fashion – letter jackets, blazers, jumpers, etc.

Sage: He’s fond of how traditional and Western style clothing were blended in the 20s and tries for a similar vibe in his own fashion.

45. What kind of self-esteem does your OC have?

Roy: Overwhelmingly confident. He’s comfortable with himself enough to shrug off mistakes and is very self-assured.

Sage: Mixed-bag. He’s usually confident in himself but setbacks tend to hurt his self-esteem quite a bit. He’s usually able to bounce back quickly enough though.

50. What is your OC’s happy place?

Roy: Not a specific location, but anywhere cozy and cheerful where he can have a good time with his friends, be it around the campfire while traveling or getting dinner at a restaurant or just at his house.

Sage: The treehouse he built with his family in the woods behind their house in Pallet.

pkmnfankids:

Hey everyone! All of us here in the Pokemon fankid corner of the fandom are planning on having a fankid week from February 10th-16th, 2020! It’ll just be a week of fun, giving everyone the chance to develop their kiddos or make new ones! Here is all the info you need!

Super quick sketch of Robin (Bede/Victor) so I can work on his design. He probably has lots of fans on his Gym Challenge and gets some corny nickname like “The Fairy Prince of Ballonlea”, haha.

Galar Fankids

As of right now, my Galar fankids are fairly set in stone. I think I’ve got a good number of them and a good idea of who they are. They’re not on the family page yet since I need to come up with surnames for all of them, but as soon as I do that they’ll be posted. That said, I figured I should share what I have so far!

Gloria/Hop: They’ve got two kids, an older boy named Neil and a younger girl named Caelia. Amusingly, despite being the protagonists, their children have the least development. I know more about their relationships with other fankids than I do about their personalities. I’m sure I’ll know more about them eventually though, since these things take time.

Victor/Bede: Two boys, named Ambrose and Robin. Both were accidents and born before the two really properly started dating, Ambrose being born sooner after the game timeline ends (since dumb teens, but Victor was really committed to helping his friend out once Bede found out he was expecting even if the two weren’t dating at the time) and Robin about 5 years after. They grow closer as a result of having a kid though and probably end up marrying when Robin is a toddler or something, though I’m not sure yet. Ambrose was a sickly child but he grows up to be kind of really annoying and pretentious and dresses like a 18th century period romance hero. He’s rivals with Chelsea and Merrill (mentioned down below). Robin is a sensitive boy and a bit of a crybaby, but he’s also able to take care of himself and anyone who makes him cry is going to regret it. He’s only a year or so older than Neil and Bede and Hop wanted them to be rivals but the cousins are best friends instead. They travel together.

Marnie/Allister: My one rarepair/crackship so far. I just thought they’d get along and paired them moreso since I wanted to explore Allister rather than Marnie, who I would have been happy keeping single. They have a son named Damian who’s Very Goth (but like, refined Victorian goth). He starts out as a trainer but eventually realizes he’d rather be a coordinator. He’s rivals with Caelia and around the same age as her (so his parents take longer than other couples to get together.)

Milo: He’s a single dad. His daughter, Marigold, was originally actually a grandkid and I made a post about her a while back, but I’ve decided to scrap that angle. So she’s his bio daughter rather than adopted. Milo just has such dad energy I couldn’t not give him a kid, but him staying single was planned from very early on.

Nessa/Sonia: They’ve got a daughter named Susanna. She’s a scientist like her mother and great-grandmother, though she’s more interested in ecology rather than legends like Sonia is. She’s beautiful (of course) and has many admirers, but she’s got no time for any of that. Science is the only thing on her mind. So she’s got a bit of a reputation for being aloof as a result.

Raihan/Piers: Friends-with-benefits turned boyfriends. Their twins, Chelsea & Merrill (or Chell & Rill as they often go by), were accidents and are initially raised mostly by Piers, since he and Raihan weren’t living together at the time, but they visited Raihan and Leon a lot as well, coming to stay more permanently when they’re around 10 and Piers gets a big break as a musician, leading to him traveling more. They’re hellions, basically, and love to cause trouble and just shake things up. They’re also the oldest fankids for the region and were in the year after the game events.

Raihan/Leon: Raihan and Piers got together first, but Leon ended up fitting in nicely with their relationship (there was a bit of drama sorting things out at first but it all works out fine in the end and they’re all happy together.) He and Raihan live in Hammerlocke together and they’ve got a daughter named Nasrin who’s maybe a couple years younger than her half-siblings. She’s very much a celebrity trainer and probably like an Instagram model or something. Very concerned with her appearance and skills as a trainer. She wants to beat Champion Victor one day to “win back Leon’s honor”… or something. Chell & Rill tease her relentlessly and she’s very fed up with them and pretends they don’t exist which just spurs them on.

My ContestQueen fankids!

From left to right:

Levi, the oldest. He’s a contest idol like Lisia and wants to make the whole world smile with his contest performances and singing. He’s also a bit of a drama queen and diva, though he keeps this side of him on the down low. His partner in his idol duo is Reece (Brendan/Wally’s son) who he’s also dating. He’s also childhood friends with Lydia (Drew/Harley) and rivals with his cousin Alphonse (Steven/Wallace), though they later travel together.

Evan, the middle child. He’s a trainer who wants to take over the Petalburg Gym from his Uncle Max one day. He takes after Norman the most in personality and tends to bicker with Levi.

Ione, the youngest. She’s a performer and very competitive. Showcases have come to Hoenn by the time of the fankid era, but she starts out in Kalos since that’s their birthplace.

Sage, Scout, and Amaryllis for the meme.

Part 1
10 Facts About Sage Oak

Sage has a full profile already, so these facts will be more trivia that can’t be found there.

  1. Sage is the second son of Green Oak and Red Aoyama. He was born on March 8, 3620, three years after his older brother, Roy.
  2. Sage’s goal to become a Gym Leader is actually in direct response to Roy having the same goal. Sage thinks that Roy doesn’t have what it takes to be a successful Gym Leader, so he wants to become one as well and prove that he can do it better than his brother can.
  3. As such, he’s been bothering his Aunt Leaf about inheriting the Viridian Gym from her, though her response is usually “I’ll think about it when you’re older” or “If you think I’m retiring any time soon, think again, kid!”
  4. He’s childhood friends with both Scout and Alton, his traveling companions. He’s known Scout longer, since they’re both from Pallet and the same age, but he’s closer with Alton since the two have more in common.
  5. He and Alton both vent to each other about whatever problems they have with their parents. Neither are particularly estranged from them or anything, but they both feel pressure in their families to succeed in one area or another and are in similar positions being the youngest child (well, Alton has a younger half-sister, but he doesn’t see her as much since he’s raised mostly by Misty rather than Brock.)
  6. Sage has an appreciation for traditional Kantonian culture that’s reflected in his style of dress. While neither of his parents are particularly spiritual or traditional, both of their parents (Sage’s grandparents) were friends with one of Kanto’s major deities. Sage grew up hearing stories about historical eras, spirits, youkai, and the like from his Aunt Yellow and her father, as well as his own great-grandfather Blaine, and developed an interest in Kanto’s history and traditional culture. He loves festivals since to him, they’re somewhat a timeless tradition and depending on the festival, sometimes the Other World is more present than ever.
  7. Sage’s dislike of urban legends is related to this. He hates how modern myths replace the old ones and will never spread an urban legend he hears, even chiding the one he heard it from for believing rumors like that. Similarly, Sage has a fascination with youkai ever since he found out his own great-great grandmother was a fox youkai. He’s cautious about poking his nose too far into such things, however, since he knows it can be dangerous even for mages like himself.
  8. When traveling in Johto, Sage’s group encounter Branwen, Corvin, and Celeste, all of whom spend a lot of time investigating the supernatural, urban legends, hauntings, and the like (much to Celeste’s chagrin.) Sage disapproves of their actions since he believes they’re just putting themselves and others in danger by messing with things they don’t understand. He’s rivals especially with Branwen, who’s flippant attitude reminds him unpleasantly of Roy. They battle pretty much every time they meet.
  9. Sage has a habit of being very defensive of his interests, especially if they’re more obscure. He tends to criticize more popular trends and media if he happens to enjoy something less popular and will get annoyed if anyone makes the inevitable hipster jokes about this. For example, Sage dislikes the Hoenn Rangers Coexistence Force show only because he likes the older and less popular Kanto Rangers Justice Heroes program, which only had two seasons and barely any merch or dvds exist any more. It’s less that he loves the latter show, and more that he’s bothered that the one he likes more is less popular. He has similar feelings about many other things, like foods, movies, and music.
  10. Sage is actually horrible at learning languages. He’s fluent in Japanese (his mother tongue),

and Japanese Sign Language (what Red uses to primarily communicate) and semi-fluent in League Standard (a language intended for use by travelers that’s standardized across all regions that are part of the Pokémon League, it’s taught in schools and most people are only conversational in it unless they travel frequently.) He chose English as his language elective in school but is miserable at it. He generally relies on his more linguistically-inclined friends to translate if the need arises.
